Anyone know what's going on with him? I've heard nothing since he was in Prizefighter, wasn't he due to fight Rob Norton or has he retired?
It's really odd, he went to all the effort of racking up about a dozen wins and getting himself a #1 contender spot and then...nothing. Just two fights in '09 and the aborted Prizefighter attempt after one fight last year.
From the Norwich Evening News Thursday, January 27, 2011 Boxer Herbie Hide will appear at Norwich Crown Court next month. Hide, 39, of Long Lane, Bawburgh, who is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm on October 3 last year, appeared before Norwich magistrates yesterday. The case was committed to crown court for trial and he will appear on February 23. Hide, who has indicated a not guilty plea, was given conditional bail. He is a former two-time World Boxing Organisation world heavyweight champion.
It is really strange.. When you think that post Klitschko everyone thought he was done and then he was just a fight or two away from a significant alphabet title shot at Cruiserweight some time later... Maybe theres something we don't know happening with his private life.
He was calling out Dingaling Wilson a couple of years ago. That would have been cracking with a capital C. Hell, it still could be... Wilson has a date with Travis Walker. If he comes through unscathed, and Hide wins a tune-up...:think
