It was an absolute ******* of a shot that he knocked out the french man with at braehead, one of the best knockouts you'll see. I was impressed with him, he reminds me of Andre Berto.

He needs to STFU though and not call out burns after 8 fights.

he's a dangerous type, but unles he pulls a win off over a nown name it may be an unlikely match, if laryea puts up a good battle with burns, then ormond does a better job on him later his argument for a crack at burns would carry a bit of weight.

He's definately been an exciting part of the undercard. I think Burns would school him but down the line you never know.

Heard Burns was looking to move up to lightweight down the line. Something on Frank Warrens site about it.

I watched Ormond on the undercard of the Martinez fight, I like his style.

Still a better opponent than Laryea.

That fight is a disgrace really.

The rest of the ''champions'' in the division aren't up to much..... Ricky is capable of beating any of them so long as he is on top form.

Stick him in, no more bull**** defences :deal

if paul appleby had won the fight against laryea everybody would be saying it would be a great fight between him and burns. if appleby was deemed good enough if he won then laryea should get his shot imo.

burns will have no problems beating him but if the fight against appleby was for a shot at burns then we will just have to put up with this fight and look forward to better defences of his title in the future.

    Not really.

It was a warm up fight for Appleby which he lost. That doesn't entitle the other guy to a shot at the title.

Especially given that Appleby was hardly deserving himself. Stopped by Lindsay, over a year off and then a couple of knockover jobs..... poor really.

It was a cynical ploy from Warren to stage a huge event in Scotland, that's all.

Laryea would barely get into our domestic top 10, he'd be alright as an opponent for Liam Walsh or Alex Arthur.

my point is that warren expected an appleby win and made it clear that the winner would be fighting burns. laryea won and therefore should get the chance promised to the winner.it is not laryea's fault that appleby was so bad he managed to get the victory. i don't want to see the fight with laryea but he did win and let him have his minute in the limelight.

warren ended up with egg on his face and now has to sell a fight that only burns fans will have an interest in. no casual fan will be desperate to part with £50 quid upwards to see laryea fight burns.

i agree he would have been a good fight for liam walsh for the commonwealth but arthur is too heavy now to fight super feathers

I like Paul, but it would have been a slap in the face had he won his last fight and got a title shot!

Bear in mind he had only fought two 6 rounders before he lost his last fight!
