He was a Savat champion as well. I doubt anyone primarily based on stand-up fighting out a Dojo wouldve done much better than he, Hackney, that journeyman boxer etc etc did. Jiu jitsu was pretty much shown to the definitive style-versus-style.

Now athletes are more well-rounded in MMA, it becomes more difficult.

Im not suggesting that your Sensei isnt very talented and dedicated. BUT the burden of proof is on him and his say so dont mean ****, to put it bluntly. It's not a stretch to say he's more talented and effective in practicing Kyokushin with his students who have less experiance than him. It is a stretch to say he'd be effective in a Mixed Martial Arts fight with little or no ground fighting skills, let alone against experiences grapplers like the Gracies who have enormous experience in winning MMA fights and BJJ competitions. And doing 'a little Judo' as you put it just isnt enough imo. Use your common sense buddy.

But he wouldnt need world class takedowns agains someone with no experiance defending them so that is an irrelevant point isnt it

'But I think jiujitsu and judo takedowns would not be as good as wrestling takedowns' you sound like a ******ed Mong. In a fight against a karate oractioner, a simple judo hip toss would have him completely out of his element, slammed hard, and with a solid ground fighter in an advantageous position on top of him.

He's like, proper ****ed from there lad. You have no basis for an argument.
