Gabe Ruelas was a lovely classy boxer- he deserved the decision vs Nelson but was badly beaten in the return several years later when Nelson somehow turned back the clock again. He put his punches together lovely and wasn't your typical mexican in a sense that he was certainly more boxer then brawler despite the Gatti performance. Not a huge puncher he mixed combinations well together and for a 18 month period he was at the foot of most top ten p4p lists and was number one in the Super Feather division. Rafeal was taller and WAS a puncher. He had a very dangerous left hook but also shared the usual frailties of big punchers- he stayed still too long and had a bit of a bittle chin. De La Hoya almost decapitated him. Despite this they were both top class champs and probably underachieved.
this show has its detractors but that episode was utterly brilliant.also the dinner for the walshes looked rank
