Contrast that with annoying smartasses such as you, I choose to have conversations with the 1st group, but give your kind some shine every now and then.

On topic: if both are matched tough - Gamboa is fighting a SFW champ next though JuanMa is only fighting Salido with the ol'Marquez rematch sighted - if they do take on the FW elite later this year, I doubt both will come out undefeated. John, Rojas, Mikey Garcia, Caballero on his game day and dark horses such as Gonzalez and Hasegawa - the division is way too packed for Bobby's master plan, and the longer he pushes it back the more likely the JuanMa-Gamboa train will derail. These are flawed fighters in a stacked division.

Unless they are going back in time, when a loss was nothing to cry about it.

Different world today. Gamboa-Lopez is being built up as two unstoppable forces heading into a huge clash, if one gets stopped prematurely, all the buzz goes away. And these two are NOT proved to be the best of the division, in fact if they start facing the best I predict one or both to lose their 0. I see this as a very solid FW match-up but not a 'natural' rivalry as they don't stand out the way Top Rank would like to see. So I say let all the top fighters play it out and whoever comes out on top on two sides, let them match in a huge FW showdown, like the LWW 'tournament'. The problem however is Arum having 2nd thoughts on 'collecting all the marbles' (= letting other promoters near the table) thing. JuanMa is facing has-beens and Gamboa facing less-known champions, so the build-up isn't really going places. I say better make the fight while there's buzz and there are two 0s, because Mikey Garcia, John if gets the chance or maybe Hasegawa/Gonzalez will look to steal the shine and then what?

I really don't like seeing a hype train being built up, for the obvious reasons really. I can't get past the fear of it derailing, especially with JML.

    PLEAAAAASSSSSEEEE

Those guys wont generate much outside of Madison Square Garden.

I think its losing its luster too. Im sick of waiting for it. Its not like they are superstars or being turned into superstars. They would need to actually face the dangerous guys in the weight class which they are not.
Why didnt they fight John or Caballero? Instead they fight each others left overs.
If they both cleaned out Featherweight then yes it would be bigger down the road but they are still just fighting journeyman to build up the fight? Does not make any sense.

Johns turned down a fight against Gamboa, he choose to fight a bum last december and now he is going to fight another bum back in Indonesia, that is what he does, he is the most selective champion of the past 10 years, not counting Fraud, and Caballero just got his a$$ handed to him by Litzau, fighting CC what is going to prove?

Well MSG is a meca of boxing so if they can fill that place up that will be big. Plus all the revenues from PPV i think this would be a big fight when they do meet.

Gamboa and Juanma is the most open fight and for sure a actionpacked one like Hagler-Hearns. Much more open than Floyd-Pac or Wlad- Haye. But there are dangerous guys in the 126 pound division and Arum taking too big risk.

I could honestly see either guy getting KTFO in this fight, and probably early.
