I wouldn't worry about Anderson, I remember listening to an interview with an agent on mmajunkie radio and by the sounds of things the UFC stars are earning some serious money. It's the lower tier guys who are underpaid.
I am impressed with GSP's knowledge of dinosaurs. interesting about how they get paid according to Georges you get a base pay,a win bonus, money for signing a six fight contract, and a % of the PPV. Of course their is also sponsorship money but that does not come from the ufc but from the sponsors who also pay the ufc for their being able to advertise on their event. So $200,000 is Andersons base pay, no win bonus for him, but he still gets the contract money and the % of the PPV revenue. My question is who else gets a % of the ppv? If your add up the declared pay is $1,643,500. How much do you think zuffa gets in a PPV like this one? If anderson is making anything less than a $1 Million, he is getting ****ed big time. zuffa after all probably makes 20-30 million for a ppv like that.
Ive heard that Zuffa pays the cable companies in the vicinity of 40%. Promotional expenses and Salaries. Always take 50% taxes and there is the net profit.
I don't see how some of these Heavyweights survive on these pathetic 8,000-12,000 pay days. I mean for an 8 to 10 week training camp food, supplementation, and training expenses would wipe all that out almost even before taxes. :roflatsch And I have never understood the "secrecy" by Dana White regarding the paydays. It makes no sense at all and I love his excuse at how the paydays are low "because the UFC is investing money to grow the sport" what in the hell is the sponsorship money going toward? Who wants to get their face bashed in for 10k before taxes are even taken out? What a disgrace.
so he gets a base fee per fight, a signing bonus when he signs for a multi-fight contract, a win bonus, and a % of the PPV
I think the guys at the bottom need more money, not the guys at the top. 200k USD is a f*ckload of money, especially considering he has made well over a million already. Of course the real problem is the UFC brass stealing all the real dough for themselves like the greedy pigs they are.
