Andersons big problem vs a prime Crocop would be low kicks IMHO, he's always been half boxer/half MT fighter and it means he tends to plant his feet be rather vunerable to them as a result. Would those thin legs stand up to Mirko blasting away at them for more than a few mins? Still I wouldnt count Anderson out completely, Mirko was even in his prime mainly a front runner so if he could stand up to him for a few mins he might be able to break him mentally as Fedor did in 05. The real problem Anderson would have at HW would clearly be grapplers for me, the size adavantge he generally has at MW allows him to be competitive when it coems to wrestling but someone like Fedor would have him down at will IMHO.
Im guessing Im alone in thinking Mirko would find it difficult to land his best strikes on Silva. The ring would suit Cro Cop best with the potential to corner Anderson. And if he does land anything significant like his body kick or straight left then Anderson would be in deep ****
CC's been a kickboxer since the Mid 90's at the highest level in K-1. He also fought in the best MMA organisation with a far more taxing ruleset closer to Vale Tudo than the unified rules in PRIDE. Of course he's got old! He's been doing this for over 15 years professionally. What's been more dramatic is his demise since the OWGP in 2006. That was positively the best CC ever. Focused and a stone cold killer with ruthless performances. His arrogance -much like in his loss to Randleman- got the better of him and he thought the UFC title had his name on it. He also came into the UFC with a ton of lengthy injury's. His not been the same since. The fire still burns but his body is betraying him. CC is done.
Prime CC is nothing like the UFC version. Anderson is great yes but CC is as well. Add the additional size and power and you have a recipe for a CC ko.
Cro-cop was too big & powerful IMO, it would be a stand-up war & the power of the bigger man would take over.
The fact that this question even comes up is a testament to how far CC has fallen. @chimba I don't think its entirely fair to say that Silva is all hype. He's got a great resume but MMA fans have a tendency to over-romanticize his capabilities. Hell, some fanboys will try to convince you that Anderson would win the K1 WGP. Bottom line, Silva is a formidable MMA striker. Can he beat a fellow striker of CC's caliber? No. When Rich Franklin, Dan Henderson, and Vitor Belfort are the biggest wins on your resume, its hard to conceptualize a possibility where you can beat a beast like Prime CC.
Cro Cop v/one-sided beatdown. He was a better striker by any measure and bigger and stronger as well.
