Haye is one of the worst finishers in boxing right now. He just charges forward and throws a million and one bombs, just asking to be nailed himself :yep

You've just got to look at the Thompson fight compared to now, he still hasn't learned his lesson. It's just the fact that his opponents since then are either of the following.....

1. Glass jawed (Enzo)
2. Capable of withstanding a beating (Ruiz)
3. Gave him something to think about (Valuev)
4. Crap (Audley)

His upper body/head movement together with his footwork looks athletic, when in truth it's really sloppy and against a non-cherry picked opponent would be badly exposed.

 

It's Moorer. There was little special about him, he was quite vulnerable and really needed to be pushed to 'get up' for fights.

There is nothing special about Haye, that's the crux of it.

I think Haye would attempt to take out Foreman at some point in the fight. Haye wouldn't know what a 40 year old Foreman would do had he been fighting him and would attempt to take him out, I think.

Foreman would cut him off and take him out.

 

Haye is a good boxer, but put him in with Big George at any time of his career and that power will always be there.

He had younger guys like Morrison and Briggs run despite his age, Haye would do the same. It took the brains of Ali to stop him, after that he hardly gassed I think. I'm not sure, it was way before my time!

George was poor post-Ali, but when he came back in the 80's he bought his wise old head to compliment his brute force, awesome strength, criminally underrated jab and cast iron chin.

George Foreman has suffered so many accusations of being overrated on ESB over the last few years he's become underrated IMO. I have him at no.4 on my alltime Heavyweight rankings.

He's a bad matchup for a ton of greats: Rocky Marciano in particular.

A fair bit of this thread is reminding me of the predictions for Foreman-Morrison...

I guess if Michael Moorer had been able to master the secret and arcane art of circling away from Foreman's right, rather then right into it all fight like a bonehead, maybe the posts here would be a little different too.

 

haye is better than tommy was, surely...compearable chins perhaps but do we even know that about haye yet??..briggs also stayed away from formena and big george was gifted the decsision agaisnt axel shulz ferchrissakes..i reckon haye can stay away and outpoint george here, truly.....but like the moorer fight, one slip and it goodnight

But if we are talking about the David Haye, who trained like a mad man. The David Haye that was in total and complete fear of losing, against Value, Harrison, Barrett.

People underrate David Haye's speed, it's not just hand speed or speed of foot.

He has whole body speed.

Speed of mind and body.

George Foreman is just too ****ing slow to beat a 100% David Haye.

He was a complete and utter ****** fighter, who just so happened to be able to hit like a truck, and had superhuman bionic body strength. If a tank was morphed into a human, it would look excalty like George Foreman.
