Even though Floyd Sr admitted in the corner between rounds 1 and 2 that Hatton wasn't listening to him?! :nut:nut:nut

hatton's failure in that fight is floyd sr's failure as a coach for him in that instance. regardless if hatton was listening or not, they still lost. if he were a respectable person he should have manned up rather than wash his hands and quick to leave hatton by himself.

what more appreciation or recognition does floyd sr need anyway? he's a decent coach. if people disrespect him, it is because he is disrepsectful himself. stupid crackhead mother****er.

I agree with everything you have said. Floyd Sr's handling of Hatton was an absolute disgrace, and he is a braindead crackhead rat.

A man who will malign any fighter who's not his son all because of jealousy.......and you want us to give him credit? The man, along with his son, is one of the biggest assholes in the sport. Not to mention he's done very little as a trainer.

    he hasn't done ****.

he's living off the fame of his son whom he himself did not train alone.

Uncle Roger is the best Mayweather coach.

Dont think you can pin too much blame on him for Hatton getting destroyed by Pacquiao, he was always gonna lose that no matter who trained him and also Mayweather Sr has a reputation as a trainer who specialises in defense, he would NEVER send a fighter out to do what Ricky Hatton did that night, it was obvious Hatton didnt make any attempt whatsoever to execute Sr's gameplan, he didnt pay the blindest bit of attention to him. But Mayweather Sr doesnt deserve much more credit than he gets imo, I think he's a good trainer but not in the same bracket as Roach, Steward, Richardson etc

    specializes in defense?:rofl

who has he taught defense to?

chad dawson booted his ass after 2 fights.

joan guzman booted his ass after 2 fights

his own son doesn't want him as his coach, if roger gets locked up uncle jeff will train floyd.

floyd sr did orthodox padwork with hatton preparing for the best southpaw in the world:lol::lol:

Okay, maybe specialises was the wrong word to use, but he's certainly a trainer that puts an emphasis on it , no? When you look at the footage of him training Hatton, and listen to what he said in the corner in between rounds one and two of the Pacquiao fight, he talks a lot about Hatton keeping his hands much higher up, jabbing his way into range with plenty of head movement instead of running into punches etc, all of which Hatton made no attempt to do at all. I'm not saying I think Mayweathers an outstanding trainer, the orthodox padwork for a southpaw thing you mentioned proves that he isnt, but all I'm trying to say is that the Hatton fight doesnt prove a lot because (a) Hatton always loses heavily to Pacquiao no matter who his trainer is and (b) he didnt do what Mayweather Sr told him to do.

he didn't do what mayweather told him to?

have you seen a boxers training camp? they 'rehearse' their gameplans over and over and over again from padwork to sparring to bagwork, it becomes second nature.

crackwhore was doing orthodox padwork training for the best southpaw in the world.

did you see when he got oscar de la hoya to do the shoulder roll?:lol:

DLH had the resources to have any trainer in the world, and exclusively too if required.
Whyd he pick Floyd Sr? He must have believed strongly in him, and DLH was a multi division champ before he went with him, not some naive novice.

Yes DLH can and will say what suits the moment, but the fact he chose Mayweather snr, speaks volumes.

Both Sr & Roger were world class fighters. Both could have been legendary trainers but they lack a fundemental skill, communication. They probably have more knowledge about boxing than Roach but they have no skills in dealing with people.
