If Froch Beats Johnson/Ward then Bute, does that make him greater than Calzaghe?

Joe's career will always be if's but's and maybe's. Towards the end he polished the legacy a bit more and made history and no one can take away from him what he achieved but i think Froch's legacy will surpass Joe's if he does what the title mentions.

Joe for what ever reason struggled to fight the guys either because he came just after or was injured or couldn't make the deal for a fight.

Jones beats Joe Prime for Prime although Joe would of held his own no doubts. Toney he would of troubled and that is a fight he could of won but it's a tough one to pick.

Froch really needs to avenge that loss to Kessler because in years to come people will use that a beat B and B beat C so A would beat C argument against him.

We must remember that Froch is doing this back to back. There's not one soft touch he's taking guys on without huge breaks and **** poor opponents to bump record up. For me his record contains quality rather then quantity that Calzaghe's does.

Beating Johnson and Ward alone would make his resumé better, especially as he would be Super 6 champion. Ward could be his Lacy night, unfancied against an unbeaten American who has received a lot of acclaim on the basis of just 1 fight

However, saying that if they fought in their primes, I think Calzaghe would take a clear decision against Froch

all joe done was throw lots of slaps, ive never been a fan of his, he bores me.......

i respect his 0 record but kessler appart he never beat anyone who was top drawer in their prime......old man bhop and washed up rjj means **** all to me.....

froch is better for me, he does more, wants it more, will fight anyone anywhere and is a genuine nice lad.......calzaghe giving it cocky **** against an old rjj was embarasing.....rjj in his prime would have killed calzaghe no worries.......

joe retired cos he knew he was on a collision course with froch and **** himself cos he knew his 0 would have to go.

No. At the moment joe is the greatest supermiddleweight ever.

Froch would have to beat those 3 as well as kessler imo. That puts him arguable at the weight, and then just a meaningful victory at lhw to cap it off.

No question would make his record a lot lot better than Calzaghe's.

Don't think he will win those fights though so academic until then.

As someone else says, in terms of resume they are pretty even at the moment, if froch beats those two then he certainly overtakes joe in my view.

in terms of talent i still favour calzaghe, but calzaghes wasted talent is such a frustration.

I'd take Joe over Froch any day and I rate Carl highly. just think Joe has the measure of Carl and that's no same on Carl.

If Magee beats Bute then successfully defends it against Ward and Kessler, does he become greater than Joe too?
