NO!!! Fedor's bread and butter is HW. He will be the measuring stick for fighters ability for years to come. A move down will tarnish his legacy.
Fedor is under 230lbs(he was wearing jeans at the weigh in) now, and is no where near single digit body fat percentage. There is no question he could make 205.
I think ever since being with M1 he has the distraction of constant "negotiations" and delaying fights and holding out etc. Back in pride he just had to fight and fought often. I think Finkel has taken the fighting spirit out of him.
whats the point he beat the hell out of all the best HW for 10 years... why would he go down and beat up the little guys.
As for fighting at 205, no it's to late to start the weight cutting game. Cutting 25lbs for someone who hasn't done it before can be a big deal.
I think your right, Fighters need to stay sharp and fedor has not been sharp for his last few fights. Really did not look sharp in last nights outing. I agree completely.
I don't understand people who think he is too old to lose 20 pounds, 34 isn't THAT old! You see much older people losing way more than 20 pounds, Fedor can easily lose that weight, just doesn't want too and has never had too.
part of the reason fedor was so succesful is that even though he was usually smaller he was lightyears quicker than his mammoth opponents. him dropping down would only serve to rob him of that advantage.
Example of this is Chris Byrd going down to light heavy when his heavyweight career wasn't going well. Yes, he wasn't a real heavyweight at any stage during his career, but it was much too late for him to move down in weight.
No, its clear from his last 4 fights that he has slipped, he needs to retire, he has nothing left to prove.
