I want to see him fight Cotto just as much as the next man but it wouldn't bother me 1 bit if he never fights again. The simple reason is it doesn't matter who he beats. As soon as he beats 1 fighter people will say now he must fight this dude or that dude. The **** just never ends.

and once mayweather beats cotto.....and the next guy and the next.....and the next...........until in the end there will be no more boxers left.

but those ******s wont stop: next up they´ll say "hey, but i bet he couldnt beat a polar bear and a pack of hungry wolves with both of his hands tied together"........

talking to those ****ers is like talking to an *******: all they produce is crap.

I'd give him a lot of props if he beat Cotto, because Cotto is a title holder at welter and an accomplished one. Cotto would also present Floyd with a lot of problems, and Floyd would really be tested.

He beat Hatton last night, a good win because Hatton is a good fighter, but he is NOT a welterweight.

Hatton is a lot faster on his feet than Cotto is. Floyd late TKO or UD against Cotto also.

It would be a shame if he retired. He's in his prime and only 30. He should take 2 or 3 more fights then retire.

He has done enough to be ATG and best fighter from 2000 on no matter what now.

He's definitely an ATG no matter what happens so why not fight Cotto? Take a well deserved rest then come back for another big payday and thrill the fans.

i really dont understand why people get upset that fans want floyd to fight #1 contenders in his fights. if champions of the past went through their careers fighting #3 and #4 contenders they would have all retired undefeated in my opinion. it is not an unreasonable request to ask of someone that calls himself the greatest ever. it is not hate to expect a champ to do what a champ is supposed to do. i do think floyd is the best right now but if he doesnt prove it like other champs have proved it then dont get upset if people question his willingness to take on the best at their best weight. if im being unreasonable please tell me why.

I would love to see Floyd fight Cotto, it is a natural fight and a huge one at that. But Floyd's name will still go down in history in my opinion, names like Castillo, Corrales, Judah, Hernandez, Hatton and De La Hoya (yes he was past his best, but do you mean to tell me that version of DLH wouldn't beat most at the weight today?) among others form quite a legacy.

Greatest of all time? Not even close. Greatest of our time. Undoubtedly. I can't speak for everyone, but Floyd has done enough for this person.

the only people that want to see him fight any longer are people who want him to lose.... all floyd fans are ok with his "retirement" for the most part
