What do you know about left hooks and have you ever been caught by one? Rushing in or "bearing" in on one would make the impact much more devestating.

Your opinion on what would happen means ****. You are an arm-chair quarterback.

I just can't get into a sport where the belts are owned by the promoters. It is an absolute joke and I can not believe people put up with this ****. Can you imagine if we had a GBP Champion and a DKP champion and only fighters who are signed with these promoters could fight for these "titles".

It would be a joke and that is what MMA is.

ABC sanctioning bodies are far from perfect but at least they are somewhat independent.

Thats exactly how the NFL operates and how the NBA operates and how the NHL operates.
Do NFL teams play for the American Football superbowl? No! They play for the NFL's superbowl. Other American football organizations play for their other version of the 'grand prize'.

Are they jokes? Yes? I don't think so.
The problem is trying to get an MMA organization as powerful as those other sport organizations to have conformity and not have the sport so broken up.
MMA is still a new sport and will continue to grow and evolve, things aren't perfect but what is.

    MMA is here to STAY.

In both real fighting and boxing, men are tested to the core because they really get their brains beaten as long as the fight lasted and they keep getting up unless they really got hit by a great puncher.

MMA fighters get stopped immediately whenever they got downed by a clean haymaker.

    What a joke.

I do know that Floyd very rarely trains at hitting people at his knee level...

Have you ever seen a great wrestler shoot for a takedown? He isnt exactly eye to eye with his opponent when he does it.

Thats because in boxing you cant jump on a downed opponent and beat his unconscious body. Shooto, a Japanese promotion has an 8 count, it takes away from the sport. If boxers could keep punching a downed opponent they would stop it damn near any time a fighter got dropped.

Go check out the Guida-Huerta fight, pal, and get back to me.

Also, go hang out with Duk Koo Kim's family a bit before you make comments like this.

You are probably one of those fans who boos a fighter being taken off on a stretcher.

I had a T.V. set up with the UFC on it, and I must say I couldn't pay any attention to it at all.

I've never seen a street fight end on the ground. So for those who say that MMA is like real fighting, then they are ****ing dead wrong. Plus the vids that you MMA fanboys showed us were of MMA fighters beating up boxers were fights under MMA rules. It would have been the same if an MMA fighter stepped into the boxing ring and the boxer whooped his ass. In a street fight, it could be a toss out between the two. Show us a vid of a boxer and a MMA fighter in a streetfight and not in a sport

MMA fighter beats boxer under MMA rules, genius.

Boxer beats MMA fighter under boxing rules, no **** sherlock.

Id give a boxer a much better chance at winning on the 'other guys turf' than vice versa though

This is one of the funniest threads ever ... that is all

BOTH are subjective. What is NOT subjective, however, is that this is East Side BOXING, where the focus is BOXING, not UFC. It should be no suprise on a BOXING site, that fans favor this sport and support it in favor of that WWF-like poser "sport." :nod

Actually, right now if you join the U.S. Army as an infantryman you might find a purer expression of fighting. One that has been with us since man walked upright. No jail time either, so long as you can follow orders.

all i know is even UFC fans start to boo when the guys are just laying on each other on the mat. And guess what happens when they stand them up to fight? MORE ACTION. The only times I enjoy UFC are when they stand and trade in a style very similar to.......oh ya, boxing.
