People need to relaise how good Joe actually was. Sure he didn't get as many big fights as he should but he was a truly great fighter. His speed, stamina, ring skill and heart would make him a match for any fighter around his weight - ever. Say what you like but that's simply true. I think his reputation will mature just as he did as a fighter. In 20 years people might finally appreciate what he had. The accusations of slapping always slap me as jealousy - the fact he could 'slap' his way to victories (let's not forget that his style was adjusted due to horrific hand injuries - he was actually a seriously hard hitter as a youngster) over Lacy, Kessler, Jones and Hopkins (who else in and around his weight class could deal with B-hop as he did that night, regardless og B-hop's whinging) show what a world class fighter he was. Please can we put the jealousy to the side and celebrate someone who was and always will be a great fighter, and the greatest super-middle we've ever seen to date.
:blood Because Monzon is half as crafty and quick as Hopkins atsch Calzaghe UD - too much speed, movement and stamina for the smoking tortoise
