Is there anyone at 118 that can hang with Donaire?

Opinions on how the likes of Mares, Agbeko, Perez and Moreno would get on with Donaire? Would he dispatch them all with the ease as he did Montiel?

I hope what Donaire said is true last night and his immediate goal is to clear up one of the deepest divisions in boxing.

Moreno and agbeko could give him some problems

I'm sure Rigondeaux would drop a weighclass for that fight and he could definately give Donaire problems :deal

I don't think any of the guys at 118 would be able to handle him. Too fast, too powerful, too skillful and, in most cases, too big. I wouldn't go and say he'd blow them all out of the water, but I don't think he'd lose to any of them. His speed is frightening.

Nishioka at super bantam may give him some problems. Doubt he'd beat him though. Donaire is special.

I don't think Rigondeux is even close to ready for a Donaire yet, his best hope would be not to get stopped IMO. Agbeko is a good shout, he really did exhibit some beautiful boxing in his last fight with Perez and is a career bantamweight who wouldn't be outsized. Are we sure Donaire can take the best shots of all the bantams?

On a side note what did people think of the stoppage? I was surpised the ref let it continue as Montiel just seem to be standing there in a trance when he somehow managed to get up after the KD. The ref was quick to stop it after letting it continue but it was pretty lucky that Donaire did not land anything more substantial how Montiel could have been in serious trouble.

I don't think so. Mares would probably be the biggest challenge as long as he makes it through the first 3 rounds. Agbeko could also cause problems for Nonito

Stoppage should have been earlier really. As soon as he saw Montiel doing that funny dance on the floor he should have called it. He stepped in promptly after though.

    Rigondeaux.

He beats everyone else imo. Just watched the KO there, what a ****ing left hook. Ref should never have left that continue.

Moreno, Agbeko and Mares are all elite. He should fight Moreno in May and then the BW tourey winner later in the year. Would much rather see this than him jump weight divisions picking up ABC belts.

I wish I could see Donaire vs. Pacquiao, when he was a lower weight fighter that is.

Not really. Phillipines have found another star here. He's got just the attributes to achieve similar feats as Pacquiao.

Donaire should not jump to 122, yet. Simply put the biggest challenges are at 118.

Nishioka, Shimoda and Poonswat will never happen, which leaves 122 pretty lean in comparison to 118.

WV2 is still green and unproven at the top level, think about it he hasn't faced a legitimate Super Bantamweight Top 10/Contender yet, let's see him be built up a bit more and prove himself before that fight happens. Molitor is beginning to look past his best and I have a feeling he will lose in South Africa, even if he does win that fight he does not make very good business sense because he isn't very well known and Donaire blasts him out with ease, he is a better opponent for Rigondeaux IMO. Rigondeaux is still very green as a pro needs at least 3-5 fights before looking to take on someone like Donaire.

Donaire should fight sometime in April/May/June, Moreno would be a best case scenario but I think it is unlikely, so how about a Philippines homecoming against his mandatory Christian Esquivel. Personally I would more rather see him stay busy then sit around. And then in August/September he could take on the winner of the Bantamweight Tournament or if it's Mares and it doesn't happen because of Golden Boy-Top Rank BS, the winner of Perez-Darch or Moreno.

Top Rank have a scary roster between 122-126 but I hope they don't keep it in da house like we know they love to.

Montiel was the top ranked fighter in the division and he murdered him without breaking sweat. He'll clean up this division imo.

Probably but you won't know until he takes those fighters on. I am interested in seeing him take on Agbeko if he beats Mares. Agbeko is very physically strong and he is a sound orthodox Boxer, Agbeko may pose less threat offensively than Montiel, Darchinyan, Perez and even Mares probably would but he is stronger and he is better defensively he isn't as easy to land and counter as the others.

Like I said above 118 is a better division than 122, he could move up but for what none of the fighters there are any better then what's at 118.
