i earned a whole lot of respect for fury last night,he was looking sharper than ever, fury vs rogan, make it happen
no he didnt,he looked terrible, not as terrible as he did before but he had rolls of fat on his back ,that is not someone who looks Decent enough
fury is never gonna be world class its plainly obvious, he will give it a go though unlike another english hw
i had chat with tyson just before xmas, suprsisin how slim he looks close up.****in tall lad, lovely fella.
Can we refer to him as "Fury" rather than "Tyson" please. I was almost impressed by your story until I got to "tall lad" and thought "oh, he's on about the other one".
I agree he didnt look good at all , he looked like someone who was just dragged out of a pub halfway through a pint of stella
It is a shame. I don't care what people say, with his size and Steward training him, he can be a serious contender post Klits. If he can get in shape he'd be more mobile, faster, and have better stamina (all big flaws in his game at the moment). He'll go nowhere if he steps up in the shape his was in last night. I still favour him to beat Chisora.
Fury needs to improve his fitness but looking at his body isn't going to be the most reliable and accurate way to determine his progress. It's an indicator, you can tell if he's in terribly bad shape or somewhat good shape, but seeing the difference between that and him being boxing fit isn't going to be determined by what he appears like. I suspect you're never going to see a ripped Tyson Fury. He needs to show progress as far as being boxing fit over the distance. Against McDermott II he wasn't in good shape at all. He was struggling quite a bit in the mid rounds, I want to see a solid performance over 10 rounds. Not just sparring pace like Page but somebody like McDermott again that will come to win and test him a bit.
seems to be a real difference of opinion over fury - split between whether he'soverarted and just british/euro title level or the previous post thinking that he'll be a big player at world level. as an outsider looking in it just seems that there are 1 or 2 deficiencies in his make up that may prevent him being a real top performer
Personally I think he's talented, at the moment he's british level, with some work European and some more work he could be a contender on the world scene. I just don't think he has the dedication to get there personally...
Look at Larry Olubamiwo. Look at John McDermott. Look at what happened when they fought. There are some people who just don't tone up. For example Amir Khan's upcoming opponent McCloskey is one, and it doesn't seem to hinder his agility or ability to win professional boxing fights. One of the first things I was taught as a kid in karate (and one of the only really useful things!) was never to judge an opponent by his appearance. I'm also sure a world-class trainer like Emmanuel Steward would not stand for any serious lack of discipline, and Fury must get some good diet and work-out tips watching and training with Wlad, a fellow giant. Young Fury will make various improvements over the next few years, fitness will be one of them. I do have my doubts that Fury will ever win a World Title, and am sure he won't be retiring with an '0', but he's a watchable (I'm not totally sure why mind!) and marketable fighter, good luck to the lad.
i was impressed with Fury's performance saturday night , he off loaded alot of big shot's which was made easy by his opponents wild swings but it made a good watch..
