if you'd been watching his and Montiel's fights, you'd have known what would happen. Not to mention the styles matchup almost completely favored Donaire.

Size advantage+ style advantage+ Montiel hitting the canvas recently= somewhat predictable outcome.

Two sets of skills define a boxer - offensive and defensive skills.

Donaire might not be at par defensively but offensively, he trumphs these guys. He threw a left hook split second after Montiel threw a right hook!!!!! If you don't think that is hard, go try it.

Not surprised at all; that left hook is lethal and his boxings skills are top notch. Its just taken so long after the Darch fight to get another big name fight. Now that he is finally a lb fo lb recognized fighter he should start getting marque fights.

Shock at the way it ended. I thought donaire could win a decision but i didn't expect that brutal KO.

People can talk about the big nonito is. But at the end of the day, he's still got hurt at the lower weight. Problem with Montiel was he waited for the faster guy to throw first. he should have fought him in the inside and make it an ugly fight. You cant beat donaire on the outside when your two steps slower.

it's alright saying that with hindsight, but at the time montiel was on better recent form, plus showed vs hasagawa that he can get easily outboxed and pull a shot from nowhere.

style did favour donaire agreed, but i just viewed montiel as a better all round and more proven fighter.

    nonito sure proved me wrong!

I want to hear you say he's as good or even BETTER than your hero Floyd Mayweather.

    from april 2008
ESB is about to have another case of a really good philipino fighter being severely underrated because his fans are over the top. Don't sleep on Donaire ppl the guy is really good

The more i watch Donaire the more i like him. The guy is collected, strong, fast, accurate, skilled, and always in good position.

Donaire 19-1 but he is much better than his record suggests

I say the guy is better than his record suggests when he was just 19-1... does that sound like I thought he was overrated?
