Probably, but then again so has Sam Peter if you give him some free shots. Haye has to earn them and that is looking increasingly difficult with the improvements Wlad makes, his style, and Haye's hesitancy.

Right, maybe I should explain myself better.

If Haye can even get to Wlad, can he put him down/stun him with one shot? Of course.

But what people forget is how many times and shots Wlad kept coming against Sanders. He has stabalised himself physically, so I imagine he'd recover fairly quckly. Even if he doesn't Haye is so sloppy when chasing his man down I don't see how he'll hot the target enough to finish Wlad off. A Wlad who is much better than the version who fought Sanders/gassed against Purrity/hurt badly against Brewster.

Haye just isn't good enough. Okay, he has some of the attributes required to beat Wlad, but not the complete package.

In fact, as flawed as he is, it's actually Wlad who looks the muchsafer stylistically going into this fight, should it ever happen.

I dunno....that right jab right hand could do Haye in but in two rounds? I see this ending in the later rounds as Haye becomes more desperate to connect after that jab/right hand keeps him honest all night and behind on the cards.......then BOOM right hand night night.

Oh, and seeing as Mormeck is still hanging round, that's hardly being 'sparked out'. Gurov is the most aestetically devastating K.O Haye has. Gurov, who, if I'm not wrong was sparked exactly the same way and just as quick by....Terry Dunstan, is that his name? Can't be ****ed to boxrec, it's cheating and I'm :rasta

Anyways, Haye is a dangerous puncher but there are numerous Heavyweights that punch far, far harder that I'd probably pick Wlad to beat.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Haye Vs the 6-15 ranked fighters during the 90's (during most of the decade) and he'd be regarded very, very lightly indeed. Would Wlad be a dominant champion in that era? Absolutely not but he'd fare far, far better than Haye IMO.

This era is **** but Haye ain't the man to 'save' it.

Wrong. Bergeron wobbled Valuev and had him do the chicken dance before Haye did.

    :yep I presume you agree?

As we like to hijack meaningless threads, here's a hypothetical for ya'; what era of HW boxing could you see this version of Haye being the most succesful in? Would he, for example, be a top 5 Heavy in the Charles-Moore-Rocky-Shot Louis-Valdez-Lastarza-Jersey Joe era?

I don't think so myself. I don't even see him top five in the Holmes-Weaver-Shavers-Witherspoon days, before the division picked right back up again.

    Hatton actually fought Pacquiao.

Haye won't fight Wlad, full stop.

If he did he'd be blasted out inside a couple of rounds.

Wlad isn't some lumbering pudding like Valuev, a leaden footed tank like Ruiz or a journeyman like Harrison. He's got good footwork, an excellent jab and is a much more rounded and intelligent fighter than David is.

Look at Haye against Valuev, by the middle rounds he was exhausted despite just skipping around the ring, waving his arms around like SRL and throwing like 3 punches per round.

If this fight were to happen (a big if) David would be lucky to make the middle rounds, even if he did he'd be exhausted and probably rescued by Booth at some point.

Wlad is just a better fighter.

What on the above BB? I can't even see Haye prospering in the Fitz-Jeffries-Sharkey-Choynski-Johnson days, 4 oz gloves with bad hands and questionable punch resistance, long, physical fights with not great stamina?

    Louis-Schmeling-Baer-Carnera-Sharkey etc etc

Haye would pick up wins against some of these guys for sure (Jim Braddock, LaStarza, possibly Fitz due to massive size disparity) but Haye is never gonna' be the guy to run the gauntlet and fight (at least) three times a year.

I don't think he's that much of a special fighter at all. A shame, I once had faith in him.

I reckon Wlad would stop him around the mid-point of the fight. Haye would be eating jabs all night and for me, wouldn't be able to get close to Wlad and once his questionable stamina starts to wane, Wlad moves in for the kill.

I still think that Vitali would be a much easier fight for Haye out of the 2, but he seems to have no interest in that fight for whatever reason.

I'd say Haye would have a good chance of stopping Vitali in the mid-to-late rounds.

Haye gets flattened bya huge right hand.Say what you want about Sam Peter or Eddie Chambers but check out the right hands Peter took and the one Chambers took in the 2nd round, theres no way Haye could take it.Hes been put down in the past by smaller men(Mock lol)and I just cant see him getting inside,to do that you have to be prepared to eat jabs and Haye wont be able to.

Not sure about the stoppage, but I would personally have Haye down as a reasonably heavy favourite if he did sign to fight Vitali.

I think it would be a good fight and Haye can definately knock Wlad out without a doubt in my mind. But also Wlad could KO Haye its in the balance and could go either way.
Flea Man would you really be suprised if Haye flattened Wlad because I wouldnt?
