Great KO by Donaire, But it wasn't a check hook!

    i think a checkhook is not intended to KO an opponent, its intended to stop a coming onslaught while stepping back, or while having your weight on the backfoot. A counterhook is a defensive maneuver meant to cause damage when executed.

    RJJ said it was a checkhook, i think he made a mistake considering how fast it happened.

    Nah, the ringpost was padded, if the post wasn't there ricky would have fallen flat on his face, but he hit the post and went backwards. Post or no post, he got rocked by a punch he didn't see and was going down.

    not to take anything away from floyd, he would have ko'd hatton anyway but ring posts aren't that padded, they have a big steel bar behind the layer of padding.

    That's why thet have that big thick ass pad over them. You could see the padding compress when Hatton went into it. Besides it was Floyd's hook that put Hatton into la la land so that he fell head first into the post. I could just as easily say that Pac's KO of Hatton was exacerbated by Hatton's head bouncing off of the canvas. Same with Glen Johnson and Roy Jones. But I give credit where credit is due.

    The fact, is not necessarily you but most people on here are obsessed, with discrediting Floyd and diminishing all that he's done. Donaire had sensational KO win, and instead of focusing on him and what's next for him, suddenly people start shitting on Floyd. Makes no sense to me.

    its the same the other way around too, floyd fans are shitting on pac saying donaire is the number 1 filipino, you fan boys need to wake up and see there are other boxers out there than just floyd and pac.
