Arum would've had plans for them to eventually fight each other, as all his welters ended up doing (Cotto, Margo & Clottey, and later Pac fought all of them). Floyd fans claim he left Arum because he couldn't garauntee Floyd the money he wanted for a four fight deal against Margo, Cotto, Oscar & Hatton. Both Cotto and Margo were in the picture

I don't know that it was the best business decision, he's only fought 5 times since, when he could've had double the fights if he was made to fulfil obligations and fight regularly under a promoter. Also, most likely he wouldn't have had those IRS issues had Arum been taking care of or advising him on his finances. As far as most money he could've made in 5 fights, definately, he couldn't have made as much as he did.

Forgetting about his wealth though (unfortunately we don't get any of it), as a boxing fan you have to admit it's been hugely dissapointing to see him waste his prime with only 5 fights in 5 years after he left Arum.

Don't be lying on Arum. He didn't want to pay Mayweather for Cotto and even said that Cotto was not ready before too.
    http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2420382

The reason Mayweather opted for the buyout rather than waiting for the May 6 result was because the contract had a limited window for the buyout, one that expired before the De La Hoya fight. However, Arum said he would have extended the window if Mayweather had asked. What Arum wouldn't do, he said, was raise the guarantees for other fights outlined in the contract.

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."

Floyd is so stupid, had he faught a bit more the last 3-4 years, he would be as far in boxing history as pacquiao. Floyd is better than Cotto, Margarito, PW and all that, he would've beat them, shame he didn't.
