Cotto calls out DLH. So boxing is all about economics(read money) now

Rich people are often the greediest people on the planet.

Plus, guys like De La Hoya, Mayweather, Trinidad, Holyfield, etc......most likely are accustomed to a different lifestyle and spending habits.

Holyfield needs a lot to maintain his mansion.

Hopkins is an exception, as he has a reputation for still being extremely cheap.

 

DLH doesnt do anything for Cotto other than fatten his wallet. Oh well, I see Cotto KOing DLH late and then fighting Mayweather in Fall/Winter '08.

Mayweather won't give Cotto a fight if Cotto doesn't put another big name on his resume.

If Cotto takes out DLH, He has NOTHING stopping him from a big fight against Floyd. It's what he HAS to do to earn a face off with FMJ.

 

Because DLH is the key to him fighting Mayweather.. pretty simple really..

 

Excactly. DLH would be the link needed to bring this fight to the forefront.

Especially since I think Cotto could KO DLH.

WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto, who sat ringside at the MGM Grand, was not pleased with Mayweather's decision to step away from the sport. Cotto is under the impression that Mayweather is intentionally avoiding a fight with him.

"He has had great victories, but when you talk about Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather, he always comes up with excuses -- I'm not the opponent for him, I'm not ready for him," Cotto said to the Grand Rapids Press. "I earned all I have now. I worked for that. Over the next year, year and a half, I can take the big names. At 147 pounds, the welterweight division, to me, it's the hottest division in boxing today. Margarito, Mayweather, Hatton, Kermit Cintron, Paul Williams and me. It could be three years of great boxing. I just want the big fights, the big names, the real fights. I wish the rest of the opponents want the same."

Cotto did call out mayrunner, but he is taking a vacation and Hatton is going back to 140. Oscar is the best option $$$$/big name.
