I think Hatton could have a done a lot better. Honestly, there aren't many (if any) fighters out there with styles to trouble Mayweather. Hatton is one of the few, and I still believe he could possibly beat Mayweather if he fought a perfect fight. He said himself that he lost his cool and didn't stick to his gameplan.
That's the best - and saddest post on this thread. In the past, guys fought each other 5 or 6 times. Rivalries brewed up - even if one guy was dominant over the other. It's a shame it can't happen nowadays. I understand it with the money fighters now get paid, but I'd love to see fighters more active than they are now.
heh that wouldn't be a bad idea. Actually I think Hatton has a great punch variety, but his defense is definitely leaky. He has great head movement but he just doesn't keep his gloves up. I dunno what's going on in his trainers head, maybe I'm missing something. If Hatton would have kept his gloves up he wouldn't of gotten smacked with all of those left hooks, and would of avoided the knockout.
Like I said PBF has already gotten maximum mileage out of that fight. He looked incredible againts someone he had all the physical advantages over to the point he became the hunter. That is an ILLUSION and saps the world over are agag. PBF now wants to squeeze that lemon again.......thats not very smart and I doubt it will happen.
There is nothing I saw in the first fight that tells me the outcome would be any different in a rematch. If anything, Hatton would be out of there even quicker.
I think Hatton may be too old to make any major adjustments to his technique. A fighter that age and experienced is set in his way.
Naw let it go bruh!! He knocked Hatton out in 10 with everything on the line he has nothing to prove in a rematch.
First of all, with Floyd being economical about his ring time with his deteriorating physical state and loss of luster for the game, and all the other crucial fights out there if he doesn't stay retired - another go-round with Hatton would be unforgivable. Would be the same result, with even less excitement. No thanks. I'd actually rather see him rematch DLH. As far as Rafael having Israel's number in their first fight? They've traded rounds back and forth more or less evenly throughout the thirteen they've engaged in. :deal The overall momentum in the first fight can be seen to belong to Marquez, and in the second to Vazquez, but that's a far cry from number possession.
