I saw the great Archie Moore say Marciano was the hardest puncher he ever faced. "Marciano was not a great boxer. He was a hard puncher! He was slam bam I don't give a damn"

Marciano was probably the hardest hitting HW under 200lbs

I thought it was generally thought Ernie Shavers was the hardest punching heavyweight

Cooper, waz 1 underrated puncher, with Good Technical Skillz.
Cooper, as good a puncher as Liston, w/ more proof, wudve ranked top 5 in power, hands down .

 

True. But the question was who hit the hardest and I think Shavers is the answer. He was not a great fighter, but was a pretty good one and danger to any foe on any given night. You never knew if the big bomb would land.

Foreman was a better fighter than Shavers, for sure.

One or more of these guys could probably crack just as hard as Foreman did with one punch.
