Frank Bruno vs. David Haye

bruno would probably do well for a bit with his jab which was sometimes (but not always) good but the fight would be boring & neither guy would do much or take much damge as haye would be skipping away from frank's slow-ass power shots but not throwing much himself...then bruno would take a few power punch counters in the mid rds & freeze up completely...go stiff...forget his gameplan & even how to box...at which point haye would come in & do his wild caveman swinging routine & the ref probably has to stop it as bruno would just stand there taking punches like he always did.

& it pains me to say that cos frank if probably the nicest bloke who ever boxed...but when things didn't go his way he fell apart big time.

haye by tko by bruno will always be a bigger hero.

Haye can't outbox Bruno, and he won't be able to stand and trade with Frank because he WILL get caught.

Basically Haye has faster hands and better footwork, but is inferior in every other department.... something which would prove obvious on the night.

easy call hayes is to fast an strong, an now like to avoid being hit, i say hayes get the knock out in the mid rounds.

Bruno in a one sided ass kicking for Haye and back down to cruiser for Enzo II

 

Both have glass jaws and poor stamina so I assume it would be like that 70's kids boxing robot toy, and suitably for Bruno's delicate mental state, Raving Bonkers. Haye wins I reckon.

 

Bruno had a stiff jab and allot of power so unless HAYE RAN ALL NIGHT I would have to predict a brutal stoppage.

lost every fuken time when tried to step up abd did beat only one decent heavy oliver McCall.

 

As much as I like Bruno and don't wish to speak ill of him, he was very limited as a boxer. He had plenty of heart, solid power and performed the fundamentals well, but he had major issues with stamina (mainly because he was built like a weightlifter) and I always detected a lack of confidence/nervousness in him. Haven't seen any of his fights for nearly a decade so I may be judging him too harshly.

That said if he caught Haye with even a half-decent punch it would be lights out, although the same could be said for Haye catching Bruno. Would be an entertaining fight though, never took much effort to root for Frank.

 

Frank would be called utter ****ing garbage if he was around today.:deal

 

So a guy that boxed in the legendary 80s and need five attempts to win a portion of the HW title Ko's todays elite HWs easily? Lay off the meth pipe...

 

To be fair, his opponents were Tyson, Lewis, McCall and Witherspoon. Can't slag a man off for losing against two ATGs and McCall and Witherspoon were no slouches.
