Generally when a fighter starts his career 0-1, it would appear he's not very good, not being managed well or both. I'm very curious about boxer's who dug themselves out of that hole and made it big. These are the ones I know about: Alexis Arguello by TKO Henry Armstrong by KO Bernard Hopkins by MD Juan Manuel Marquez by DQ Rafael Marquez by KO Ricardo Mayorga by TKO Also, Jack Dempsey drew in his debut. I'm sure there are loads more. Any and all contributions would be appreciated.
Benny Leonard TKO3 got a nose bleed You said pro but I know Joe Louis lost his amatuer debut. Henry Armstrong actually was 1-3 at the beginning of his pro career, nice turnaround.
Never seen Hopkins Pro debut, was it even recorded? I've looked high and low for it for a couple of years.
Haven't seen him yet but I'll keep my eyes open. His first fight was with Canelo. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=357157&cat=boxer
