Savon is simply the best heavyweight of our era, no doubts about it! Teófilo Stevenson is one of the ATGs and Alcides Segarra on of the best trainers. Full Stop.

I remember watching the fight against ibragimov, I thought Savon was gonna get caught with something.

He didnt go pro because of the Cuban goverment, just like Stevenson, Rigondeaux, Kindelan and the rest, luckyly for Gamboa, Solis and Barthelemy they took the chance when it was given.

It's just not right, not fair to have both greats Savon and Teofilo Stevenson not ever fighting as pros bc of politics.

The sport of boxing and its fans didn't deserve this.

Both of them would not turn pro anyways. Stevenson was offered pro fights by Ali multiple times but every time turned it down. Saying he would never turn his back on his country.

Gamboa is a future p4p king and one of my favorite fighters.. I can't wait to see him fight some big names.. He's one of the most gifted boxers i've ever seen.. Rigondeaux was something special too, its a shame he never took his chance..
