If a fighter is ill in the week of the fight and it's decided he should go ahead with the fight and can still win...and he loses...that's clearly a big ****-up. No arguments.

that last comment is bang out of order mate

avid is a good poster. i dont always agree with him (especially re paul smith) but the chap is a knowledgable poster and who are you to come on and say he knows nothing about the game?

obviously you are close to foster jr and giving the ill excuse. the chap should have pulled out if he was ill. he took a hiding from a fighter who isnt really rated high by anyone. fegatilli is very limited. if foster was ill then why was the trainers putting him out to fight ffs. to please the fans? what about the fans who put their hard earned money on him to win. are they pleased?

foster is limited and got badly exposed as a fighter really lacking and if he was that ill and the corner allowed him to go through with it, they should all be ashamed of themselves as they let themselves/foster and the fans down.

If you've got a virus, pull out of the fight.

I've not seen the fight yet, but I'm always sceptical about ''illnesses'' being reported after a defeat.

Hopefully he can put this setback behind him and come back at 135.

I was there also but only normal tickets not the fancy ringside tickets

What i cant understand is that is steve foster snr is steve jnr manager and also father why did he not get him to pull out earlier in the week

With steve jnr having a virus. You would have fought that his dad would say pull out the fight to keep the belt even if not to keep the belt keep the momentum he has built up since his return from the two year layoff

and the two year layoff you would have believed after seeing this side of the game his dad/manager would not have risked him in the fight if he was not completely 100%

Agree with a lot of your last comment mate, but you don't need to be a genius or work behind the scenes to have a fair idea how it works.
I agree though that a fighter should be given every opportunity to win once the fights started, but giving foster the best opportunity IMO is not fighting with a virus!
All easy to say in hindsight though!
With regards to not following instructions because you're exhausted. Look at froch getting knocked down by Taylor. Look at makrakens demeanour and advice, and how Carl does take on board what's being said. What you're saying is that a cornerman isn't needed because a fighter is so knackered that he won't listen to what's being said to him!

That was a shell of the real Steve Foster Jr last night. After a couple of rounds he looked very flat and his work rate was very low. I couldnt believe a weak puncher and average opponent like ***etelli was about to put him on the backfoot so easily.

There were obviously a lot of things that were going on out of the ring, including the virus, that had a serious impact on his strength and fitness. He should never be losing to guys like ***etelli - a fully fit and conditioned Foster beats him.

The corner man who did know what round it was (at the end of the 11th) should have a word with himself, his fighter was in a very bad way and was fighting for pride at that stage, you would think that all of the corner would know what round it was. He should never have been in there in the first place, but that is easier to say with the benefit of hindsight.

What's your history in the game? Because you should know boxing is a INDIVIDUAL sport! Ricky wasn't in there fighting with him and neither were the fans who got tickets ( no disrespect amid ;) ) gotta think about number one and no one else!
