Clottey would be a tough opponent for Floyd. Clottey is a very accurate counter puncher, as is Floyd. Floyd doesnt throw as many punches as Manny or use the kind of movement that troubled Clottey. Id expect a very close fight that goes the distance. Clottey also has quick hands and respectable power and chin. His biggest problem is that he fights in spots. If he lets his hands go and doesnt just stay in his shell its a close fight all the way through imo.

Floyd has only fought guys with a big name and were coming off good wins in recent years.

The Great Ghana Joshua Clottey meets neither criteria.

Cotto would be huge, but the least likely to happen. To much to risk going into a supposed even bigger showdown.. because that fight is a SUPERFIGHT itself and Cotto has all the tools to win an upset.. Fans have wanted this fight for years and even at this stage he'd by my second favorite fight for Floyd to take..

Whatever happens with Pac this fight STILL needs to happen..

I agree it a high risk low reward fight, he may find it appealing because he may expect Clottey to just be in his shell for 12 rounds and Floyd may see it as an easy fight that he could just cruise through. he would be wrong, but he may think that. Plus Floyd would probably demand the fight be at 147 and he knows that Clottey would have a hard time making that weight without losing some steam.

How about Jan Zaveck, the IBF welterweight champion, who beat Isaac Hlatshwayo in South Africa for the title?

lame from floyd, want a "tune up", despite saying he can beat pac no problem!.

still floyd v pac for novemeber possible though.

funny how floyd says pac has poor opponents and he himself isnt impressive, but then says pac is rioding cuz he beats poor opposition so well and looks super un naturally good??. very contradictory!

Floyds only semi decent options which are acceptable:

    Martinez
    Williams
    Cotto
    Margartio
    Cintron
    Berto
    Khan?
martinez is the only prime and real dangerous opponent style wise.

He's got more chance of fighting Neslon Mandela.

Mayweather will not fight outside of Nevada.
