You guys are ****n dreaming if you dont think GSP cant dominate Silva by keeping him down. Lutter took Silva down with a pinky and went to mount him with ease. Remember Lutter? The Michael Jordan of BJJ?

GSP can take Silva down yes.

I dont think GSP can do much after that however.

Whatever Chael did, GSP can do a little better dont you think? GSP is a better striker and has a tremendously long reach. Just a way better fighter all around. He certainly can do more damage with his elbows than Chael can with his hammerfists

Gsp's reach is still less than anderson silvas, but striking from the outside I can assure you is not in Gsp's gameplan.

Cheal Sonnen's plan was to mix up his ground strikes and just keep on anderson he was not always tryng to ko anderson or cause Silva damage. Just to land anything on silva to keep the pressure on and to keep the ref from standing both fighters up.

But lets not forget that sonnen took punches while coming in to get the takedown on silva. Gsp wont do that.

Cheal is also bigger than GSP, I think Silva would be able to maintain a body triangle from the bottom on Georges and if not probably keep georges in his guard. Silva's defence is very good from the bottom and will be causious in his gaurd to avoid getting in any bad submissions making his output in Gnp much lower than Sonnens was.

I dont know, GSP arguably has the best top game in MMA sans submission. Silva from the bottom has taken damage from Lutter, Hendo, and Chael. He is not invincible with his guard but I really cant see anyone subbing this version of GSP. Its going to be a game plan of take him down avoid subs and throw enough elbows to score.

Remember that Silva has not always timed (with a strike) everyone who has taken him down. GSP on the otherhand is so good timing wise that Ive never seen him close to being hit because hes so fast.

I can see this another one of his typical borderline LNP victories, seriously, GSP had a little problem keeping Alves and Koscheck down because of their explosiveness to spring back up but Silva has never shown the ability to keep it standing against a wrestler.

The same could be said the other way around. Whatever Serra did (TKO), Silva could do better. Everyone must be dreaming to think Silva can't dominate GSP by keeping the fight on its feet and stopping him. The reality is that to say GSP dominates Silva at this present time means his abilities are being grossly overrated or Silva is being heavily underrated. You cannot compare Alves, Fitch, or any of GSPs other opponents to Silva because the reality is there is no other Anderson Silva. Also, you can't bank on Silva coming in injured and having the worst performance of his life while GSP having the performance of his life ala the Sonnen fight.

Let's not forget Anderson Silva unofficially now has Steven Segal on his team. He has taught him "the kick"... next he will teach "the punch" and will instruct Silva on how to use it against GSP.

Demian Maia, Nate Marquardt and travis lutter comes to mind.
Demian was a hell of a boring match and i can see that happening in gsp vs silva tho i hope not.
You said travis in one of your post a bit up on the page and i would like to remind you of a round 2 sub that silva pulled of on him.
Nate, i dont know if he really is a wrestler but he does got good wrestling and got KTFO

Regarding the Seagal part, yes it would be tough on GSP. But Serra was an abberation. Being taken down and looking vulnerable, this has happened far too often with Silva.

In GSPs little toe, theres a bit of build up dirt under his nail. That dirt is better than Lutter. So no dont remind me.

I would pull for GSP but my gut says Silva. The natural size advantage is obvious. This to me is the equivilent of Silva vs Fedor. Good on paper but the bigger skilled man wins.

Im very excited for this fight to happen however i dont think it will be very exciting however weve seen time and time again that Silva performs 100X better against more skilled/dangerous opponents so fingers crossed

The kick that KO'd Belfort was ****ing great. But Silva has looked beatable in the fights leading up to that. GSP could be compared to Sonnen perhaps? I think GSP has the tools to employ a similar game plan. Obviously he wont be quite as strong as Sonnen but he is faster, technically a better striker and proven in the white hot environment of the mega fight main event.

Any other WW moving up I say Silva no question. I think this is a 50/50 (ish) fight which is testament to just how good GSP is.
