The irony is if Andrade would have been invited in the Super 6 before say J. Taylor, then the vast majority here would automatically give him more respect. Suddenly, he'd become a very good "W" to have on a record...since he's been top 10 at 168lbs for so long....
Yeh he avoided dawson for years????? hes 46 years old, for **** sake Make it worth his while to fight him. Risk has to equal reward!
Look, I'm a big Andrade fan, but it's clear he's limited. In fact, that's part of why people love him. Very rarely is he faster or more skilled than his opponent...almost never actually. In spite of it, he's become a perennial contender. His greatest performance was when he manhandled Steiglitz. However, it seems that he's breaking down a little. The fact that an old, shot, and inactive Eric Lucas had several moments against him is worrying. Bute's good, it's clear the Andrade is not on that level. Drama aside, Andrade has suffered 3 wipeout losses to Kessler and Bute. I do agree though that if pressure bothers Dawson than Andrade would be a harder matchup. But I think Dawson SHOULD win either match with relative ease.
Yes to everything, except for the fight against Lucas. Andrade started his training 4 weeks before the fight. He wasn't motivated at all. I'm not saying Andrade is very talented. He has a special blend of assets which disturb boxers much talented than he is and he gives all he has. That's all. I'm sure that Dawson will win against him but he'll have to work hard. Diaconu has stamina problems so after 6 rounds, it would become easier for Dawson.
Ah ok, I didn't realize he only started training 4 weeks before the fight. Was it short notice? Or was he that unmotivated? I was wondering why he looked so sluggish and ridiculously soft in the body. However, we can agree that he doesn't belong with the upper-echelon fighters but has a ridiculous chin and keeps stalking enough to break a bunch of fighters down.
I doubt Diaconu would be much trouble for Dawson tha Andrade. Diaconu vs Andrade is a good 50/50 fight though
"Step up in class"...Dude, I'll say it again, like I said it before the first Hopkins fight and was proven right...Pascal is ****ing weak. He has no stamina, fights in spurts when he does fight, is easily detered from punching when he gets hit, and is mentally weak. He is "explosive" when he wants to fight, and has decent power, but obviously knows little about how to use it to his advantage seeing as how he should have lost the Hopkins fight, and appeared to be on his way to losing to Dawson had the stoppage not occured.
Well Dawson was #1 before he lost to Pascal and he wasnt interested then. Also Hopkins wasnt 46 when it was first touted for him to fight Dawson
