An article taken from a Boxing website.........

Oscar De La Hoya out of retirement and back into Boxing?

One of my all time favorite boxers is Oscar De La Hoya. Even in retirement, I still think back on his career with great admiration. I liked how he handled himself inside the ring as well as outside of it. In recent times, there have been rumors swirling that De La Hoya might drop retirement and make a comeback. I for one would approve of such a move.

In a recent tweet from MaxBoxing's Steve Kim: "Latest Oscar De La Hoya comeback rumors are percolating, again. Word is he will face Canelo Alvarez down the line #boxing."

These rumors are only picking up steam. I personally feel a rejuvenated De La Hoya could once again perform at a professional level. I think we could use some of the excitment he brings to the table. I hope the rumors turn out to be true.

    Don't do it Oscar.
Seeing such a legend get such a pasting from Manny was bad enough.

Oscar vs. Alvarez would make a new superstar. I'd be happy to see that, despite Oscar being a favourite of mine, for the sake of the sport. The fight would be enormous.

If he comes back it won't be to fight his protected little prized possession Alvarez. Everyone would see through that as a fixed fight. Now Chavez Jr I could see him fighting.

It makes you think though, why would Oscar want to make him a superstar by letting him whoop on him?

Controversial, but **** like this makes me question whether the fight with Manny was actually staged, dont know what DLH would of had to gain by doing that, but I always felt that fight was fishy, and stuff like this makes me think hmm. All this without talking about his fight with B Hop, where if you were to be cynical, you could make the accusation he took a dive, that he he was trying to help build Hopkins into more of a star.

Oscar has no more business back inside a ring unless he has a mike in his hand promoting a fight. Time waits for no man, grow up and move on.

    My nuts.

One of the few fighters in the modern era to fight anyone anytime, if everyone did that they'd have mediocre performances and more losses too. Oscar was a warrior, not the greatest fighter ever but a physical beast in his prime and competed against the best
