This would finish Lacy I think, though it's probably delaying the inevitable. I think he'll be retired with 24months
Kessler will **** Lacy.....bad match for Lacy..he will get beaten to a pulp to the faster , more accurate and sliker Kessler...a better fight for Lacy at this point would be Siaca, but he is a southpaw and we know Lacy's performance against lefties..
I agree it's too early to write Lacy off as a world-class fighter, but the signs are not good. Not only was he rusty, he looked frightened and shell-shocked. Mentally, I'm really worried about him. If they can't get him to punch with power, he's toast.
after seein the fight on mayweather undercard...i think i'll say kessler takes this...it hurts to say it cuz if yall know me on a regular i used to give lacy so much props...i used to hype him up...but he was maaddd rusty against manfredo..i didnt like what i saw.
I know, it's hard to watch Jeff fight with so little confidence. The pre-Calzaghe Lacy would have given Kessler hell in a great fight; now, I'm afraid he gets stopped in the middle rounds.
The Calzaghe destruction did a lot more damage to the mental make up of Lacy than anything else. When you're fighting on a big money PPV and your trainer has to question your fire, something is wrong. Either he's extremely shot or he needs a big overhaul of his entourage. I don't think he's ready for a fight with a Kessler-like opponent, nevermind the real thing.
Lacy would be wise to take on another fight he knows he can win and let his injury have more time to loosen back up before he fights a Kessler....because at this point he might not last the distance against Kessler....
I'm not that sure... by the looks of his WBA-titlefight opponents - I think Mundine is mostly interested in milking his paper-belt for all it's worth - and if he fights Kessler for it - then he'll loose it...
