I go through Dungiven every day. That you tube clip is like punishment .....although I do remember that day......the weather was lovely. Dudey does appear on a mural on the side of McCloskeys shop (not his shop). I think its where that mural you posted is. I must be blind because I haven't seen the posters but I expect there to be a few more up over the coming weeks. I was up at Lynch's new pitch the other month. Brilliant facility and a great club.
LOL **** all sun in Dungiven!...the fact that you can remember that single sunny day is funny! I think McCloskeys newsagents is the next gable that you can see on the way down the the street (towards Derry direction)...on the left hand side....is it of a page from the Derry Journal or something with Dudey on it? I think theres a mural of Kevin Lynch holding a hurl painted over the "horse it into you sur" mural...on the side of the arcade but i could well be wrong. Definitely a great club...did they put a roof on the stands that were on the right hand side of the pitch?...been years since i seen it.
You are correct. wrong gable. Its the Irish news I think. A roof! they have a lovely big club house. Opened last October time. I went up early for a match and saw the kids training. I thought it was unfair to stick the small boy in goals. The kid was incredible. Absolutely brilliant in goals. Reactions like a cat.....like his uncle Paul.
McCloskeys newsagent has a painting of both Dudey and Duddy, in the style of the Irish News front cover. The painting on the gable of the arcade bar is the club badge of Kevin Lynch's hurling club and also a mural of Cúchulainn :good
Aye i think youre right it is the Irish news...anyone got a picture of the Dudey mural? Lol I thought you were talking about O'Cathains park (Dungiven GAA just round from Hagans corner)...didnt realize there was a seperate hurling club now. Dungiveners are tougher than hurling balls!
Ah Cúchulainn that would explain the funky getup hes wearing and the dagger...and the fact that it doesn't look like Kevin Lynch!...good reference with the hurl though as Cúchulainn was meant to be a hurler. Its mad to think that hurling was being played as far back as probably 2000 years ago...its still far better craic than hocky. That must be Benbradagh and the standing stone near the chapel in the background. This content is protected

Google street map doesn't even have it. It needs updating. I am just after passing it but I think the Cúchulainn one is gone now as a building extends up to the corner now....I'm too stupid to turn my head to look. I'll do it tomorrow. One of the posters has been liberated by the looks of it from the Derry side of town. They look absolutely class.

Someone must have built something where the orange hall was (thank **** if the orange halls gone!). That posters probably in someones house by now...they look leathal...might order one for here...I'll probably be the only one here supporting McCloskey as its mainly Asians living round here. There'll be some craic there if Dudey wins...i can see more than just the tavern serving all night!
