Over the years there have been many, many unlikely wins by Aussie fighters.

But could there have been a more unlikely win than this one:

    Blue corner:
A 28 year old Aussie with a record of 1 pro fight, albeit a win.

    Red corner:
A former 3 time world champion, with 33 pro wins to his name, and the only man to beat a particular ring legend, and household name, twice.

Can anyone top that for an upset?

....and while we're at it can anyone name the fighters involved?

1990's, and 1995 to be exact.

Tosca Petridis is correct - good get Gov.

and yes it was Tommy Hearns who Iran Barkley, Petridis' opponent, beat twice.

....anyone offer anything similar in the way of upsets?

Off topic. and can't be arsed starting another thread, which Australian fighter ko'd his opponent, and then had the same opponent judging his next fight?

I'll take a fricken huge stab in the dark Leon, and say Dale Westerman was the KOed fighter who judged his opponent's next bout.

It wasn't you was it Leon KO'ing some clown down the pub, then came back the following week as the self-appointed judge when the bloke decided to have scrap with another patron?

Obviously from KO'ing the idiot you knew his weaknesses well and were able to freely score his next 'bout'!
