    Kid has great power combos etc. but he lacks defense, headmovement,footspeed etc.

    The following guys beat him: cotto,margarito, martinez,berto,pac,angulo,floyd,williams,cinton.
    Alvarez is screwed from here on because he will eventually take on some of the big guys.

    perhaps, he did look a bit gassed and frustrated by hattons clinching, but at this point he is a champ he will be in way more difficult fights then this one, imagine if hatton had power, his chin is still a bit of a question mark for me at this point.

    he weighed 165!.

    he will be a middleweight,but hes not beating anyone good anytime soon.

    All those guys are pretty much Elite and top level...

    Canelo is 20 years old...and a hot prospect, so your point?

    That;s not fair cesare, you want him to go out like vargas?

    He ain't getting matched with them anyways, not anytime soon. Maybe end of the year, early 2012

    I think he is only 20 years old. He won't fight any of these guys this year. He will improve that's for sure.

    Who cares about titles... this was gonna happen at 147 before GBP screwed it..

    Just like Margarito PAC was first gonna be at 147 before ARUM screwed it

    I have nothing against alvarez, but he is a champ at this point people will be looking to get it on with him, he is a prospect he shouldnt be a champ now, this puts him in this situation: he either faces bums and keeps his title and improves but gets hated on or he fights challenges and risks getting knocked out soon. its a tough situation they have put him in.

    but Pac is always the smaller guy, and there is a huge diference b/w margo and Matthew hatton

    I think he is very flawed BUT would have a decent shot against Margo (No plaster and Shot) Angulo, Williams and Cintron. I would also add that even today's Mosley probably beats him. Don't know about Kirkland yet, if he can shake the rust off and get back to where he was he will be a force.
