This is where Lara's vast amatuer pedigree should come into play. Lara is such a good fighter and would like to see him vs Kirkland, Angulo, Cintron, and Dzinziruk. At least right now, he is on a higher level than Alvarez. They did wrong in giving this kid a belt. Very wrong, now the pressure is on Alvarez and he's going to have to bring it. I don't doubt what he could of done if brought up properly, but having one of the belts makes him a wanted man and aforementioned fighters like Lara, Cintron, etc will want to make roast meat out of him. I don't think Canelo is ready, but that doesn't mean he won't be a dangerous fight or could upset any of them. Despite his flaws he won't be a walk in the park for anyone. At this point, a TKO or UD for Lara. Canelo should of been fighting for a belt at 23-24, he is obviously being rushed.
Stop the bul****! The guy turned pro at 15, fought about a half dozen ranked contenders as a teenager, took on horribly styled fighters such as Euri Goznalez, Lovemore N'Dou or current champ Miguel Vazquez and put Chavez Jr. to shame blasting out Cuello that could have a W over the hype job - tell me where the f*ck the community came up with Canelo not wanting tough fights after having a hell lot of them as a teenager? Madness!
Its really a toss up right now. We need to see Lara face higher level opponents. He has been facing bums lately and of course he blows them out. Until we see him facing tougher challenges he is gonna keep looking great. The one time he did face someone good was Brewer who is a decent fighter and even there we saw his biggest and really only flaw. His inside game. I can see Canelo capitalizing on that. Canelo fights well on the inside with his well put combinations. Its tough to call right now. Need to see more. Also i hope Canelo was just not worried about Hattons punches because he took too many for my liking. I think it does have to do with him realizing Hatton could not hurt him with his shots.
ITs just hate man. He gets alot. I can see where its coming from but some guys do go overboard with it. Funny how they all keep saying Lara is so perfect. They are right he is perfect for the amateur world. Lets see how he does against a top level fighter who doesnt fight his distance amateur fight. I have been saying it for a while his biggest flaw is his inside game since thats not really used in the ams. He panicks and backs up in a straight line to his comfort zone. A guy like Angulo and Kirkland would eat him up now because of it. Those 2 are great inside fighters with good chins so they can pressure all 12 rounds. Lara backs up in a straight line or panicks agianst these 2 and he goes down. Also Canelo has a very good inside game. He throws great combinations on the inside and is not afraid to rough a guy up.
