One of my favorite young prospects is this talented kind from My Home State of Ohio (Cleveland) name Prenice Brewer. Has all the skills and pyhsical attributes to be something extremely special in this sport...Tall, rangy (for a 140lbs fighter), long arms, extremely fast and an excellent boxer with POP (Not Explosive Power)...But Pop. But damn...he gives up his height way too much and falls in love with "THE BRAWL" (ala Paul Williams). Suffered his first loss in a 3rd Round TKO to Patrick Lopez. I hope he gets a new trainer and concentrate more on being a BOXER ON THE OUTSIDE!!! Has a solid Amateur Background also...you would think by now, he and "his people" would have figured it out that using his height/speed is the BEST STYLE for Brewer. Sometimes it's not the trainer but the boxers. 1) You have to come to the gym and train 2) You have to listen to both your trainer & management and 3) You have to come to the gym and train. Did I mention that you have to come to the gym and train? And listen to your trainer? I think you understand. Prenice hopefully will get refocused and get back to what I know that he can do also. Just as a treat check out him vs. Prenice vs. Gary Russell Jr. Prenice used to come to DC a lot. 2 years later these two won the National Golden Gloves, Gary as a 16 year old!! Looks good physically. I have a feeling his chin will crack easily. He needs a LOT of work. He should change coaches ASAP! He needs to go to a real Boxing gym. I would hate to see him go out like Mike Dallas.
Thanks....Although I have seen these. Are you hip to a young southpaw named Tremaine Williams.....this kid is PHENOMENAL.
Mike Dallas didn't just lose....he got OUT-TOUGHED. I have a feeling he'll come back, at least I hope so.
Dallas never convinced me even when he beat Lane, who looked an okay to decent prospect, he is far too rigid for my liking, fights on too much nervous energy. I think Brewer needs to learn to sit down on his punches more, he seems to fight with an open hand, rather than a closed first, probably in an effort to utilize more speed, but sometimes you need to get your respect imo.
