cotto:i am 100% margarito had loaded gloves

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by avenel, Mar 8, 2011.

  1. anyway we all know Cotto dropped to the floor rather like a school boy than taking another shot from Margarito like a man , who says he wont cave in to the pressure Mayorga will put on him for atleast a round or two

I cant even debate this **** any further, Nevada supplies all the gauze and the tape, and Nevada does a much better job than any other outside commission such as California.

The way Margarito was loading up on his shots in that fight and landing on Cotto especially the first half, Cotto would have had atleast a busted eye socket. the effects of that would have been much worse than what the effects show at the end of the fight.

Bottom line when you compair his face at the end of his fight with Margarito vs the way it looked with pacquiao you tell me which fighter looked to have loaded gloves.

Not saying Pac had loaded gloves at all but if your basing this on his face at the end of the fight, you can make the same arguement for pacquiao based on the way his face looked.

Cotto is simply trying to deal with that loss and this is his way, his fans and he himself need to hold on to this as a valid arguement. he may beat Tony in a rematch cus Tony might be ripe for the picking but it does not mean Tony had loaded gloves in fight 1.

Cotto lost cus he fought the wrong game plan period, look at the way Pacquiao and Mosley beat Tony, they didnt move as much as cotto did they just stepped around Margarito and caught tony every time he was resetting....

    Finally some sanity!!!!
Cotto showed it was gonna be an easy night in the first 6 rounds. The thing is he got worn out from all the backing up and movement he was doing. Not to mention the punches he took when he should have initialled a clinch.
My prediction for this fight was Cotto UD 8-4. If a determined Margo showed up i said he could maybe get a 6-6 draw or still lose 7-5 rounds.

Cotto just should have won this fight. Its simple as that he just fought the wrong strategy.

One question isnt one of your team supposed to watch put the wraps on before battle, i really doubt they were loaded ,if they were he should be banned for life its disgusting as far as im concerned thats the lowest of the low for cheating worse than anythink i can think off.

To be fair he actually says he's 100 percent sure that "Margarito knew what he had, was a part of it", not "used loaded gloves against me". He finishes his sentence differently.

if you think about it, it was what five years ago since DLH destroyed Mayorga, lets be straight Mayorga did struggle in his last fight, he did get knocked out by Mosley, DLH, and Trinidad in all of his big step ups...

Mayorga always gets stopped when dealing with a sharp left hooker who knows how to place his shots, and beleive Miguel knows how to place his shots, Mayorga is also weak to the body, something Miguel is no stranger to he loves the body. this fight has a Cotto win and an early win written all over it....

However we must look at Miguels weaknesses as well, Mayorga is not going to out box Miguel, but he did so against Mosley for most of the fight he also out boxed Vargas which isnt anything to write home about considering Vargas was fat and shot...

in every fight in which Cotto was hurt it usally came by looping shots, or temple shots, Look at the Corley fight, the Judah fight and the fight with Pacquiao and with Margarito... those temple shots hurt Cotto. and Mayorgas wild style he loops them shots and they are temple shots for the most part, this is where its very dangerous for miguel IMO and this gives Mayorga a big chance at winning.

one thing about Mayorgas style and this is what has given Forrest and Mosley trouble, Mayorga comes forward with wild wicked shots, and usally when he dose that the man on the receiving end of those shots tends to back up giving Mayorga the ground he needs to land his shots, while the other fighter is not set to return fire. if Miguel cooperates with that style he will not win, he must step around as Mayorga comes forward make him miss then counter, the only time Cotto should even think to try and catch him in between shots is when Mayorga is firing from a stationary position, if Mayorga is comming forward he must move, step around and then counter off his wild miss.

Honestly Cotto should win this fight and likely early, I think in the first half Cotto will win, But this also depends on weather or not he sticks to his game plan, if he fights Mayorgas fight, Mayorga will be much more than a live under dog he will be a new world champion... he still has that power.

Apparently, Evangelista Cotto wasn't present during the hand wrapping. Miguel Diaz was supposed to be the guy in the room, but he didn't get a chance to attend since he was working the corner for a fighter in the co-feature and Evangelista also was tied up with another fighter who fought on the undercard.

at first Evangelistia denied not being present in the room, however either way the commissioner was in the room they didnt just allow him to wrap with out someone being present

Dan Rafael said a while back that Cotto's lawyer may have been present. But I haven't heard that from anywhere else.

I do not beleive for one second that NSAC would allow a fighters hands to be wrapped with out the presence of a member from the other fighter camp, I just do not beleive that especially in a unification bout.

I love both fighters and though it disgust me what happend prior to the mosley fight, I cant point any fingers at the Cotto fight, Cotto IMO fought the wrong fight

Puerto Ricans are incapable of betting against their countrymen. Easy money to win when there's an obvious miss match. Like Margarito vs. Cotto :thumbsup

Well this is the same commission who allowed Miguel to have his hands wrapped with the NSAC representative seated on the opposite side of the room all the while Cotto's son is playing in between them with a stuffed animal. So I wouldn't put it past them.

the rematch would probaly answer many questions it is incredible how everyone is so sure he did or didnt load? no one knows, we know for sure he got caught in the very next fight so it should cast a doubt as to what the **** was really going on in that 1st fight there are doubts and there should be. A rematch could provide some insight and maybe some answers.

Not really. Both haven't looked the same since catching beatings. They've both received two vicious ones in recent years so whoever is less shot will prevail. I'd probably go with Cotto since he is more skilled and Margo's punching power seems to have magically decreased recently.

If I had to put my life savings on the line, I would bet that Margo cheated in the Cotto fight but we will never know so there is no point going there anymore.
