I hate the tired expression 'styles make fights', but it really applies here. Their styles are nearly polar-opposite. Martinez has never faced anyone this technically sound and disciplined, and as far as I know, Dzinziruk has never faced anyone with the bizarre unorthodox style of Martinez. If Martinez can fluster Dzinziruk and get around his jab, like he did Pavlik's, he wins, and maybe stops him. If Dzinziruk can apply constant pressure with that jab and keep range, he could outpoint Martinez. My money's on Martinez, but I think this fight isn't getting the exposure it deserves. Dzinziruk is a very good fighter.

is that the best you can do? some people here need to think before having access to a computer.

SM won the first three or four rounds. KP then started wakling him down and had a knockdown in the seventh round. after the eigth round, KP was probably ahead on the cards. he then got severely cut from a SM punch(9th round) that changed the entire fight.

not to always agree with lederman and his scorecard but the video also has the soundbite from emmanuel steward commenting on pavliks counter jab starting to set the tone of the fight. he also says that it was a close fight at that point but he thought that pavlik had the harder and more effective punches and was going to eventually win the fight. listen to the soundbite.

instead of using stupid, childlike, smiley-faces for comments you should know what you are talking about first. you must feel somewhat stupid right now.

Pavlik is a notoriously slow starter and was starting to walk down SM before the fight-altering cut.

some people hear are just plain morons. they listen to one clown with thousands of posts and jump on his bandwagon trying to belong.

I really can't stand posters on this forum when it comes to the aftermath of certain events.

I guess you know more than both lederman and steward. and no i'm not drunk, i made a mistake regarding it being a rematch.

have you ever made a mistake before and not been drunk?

you know it happens(mistakes)to everyone without a few morons jumping in to help the schoolyard bully with his 14500 posts.

I think that a 100% accurate statement. Dzinzurik is one of the best technical fighters in the game and def the best Martinez has ever faced. Also the best jab Martinez has ever faced.

Gonna be a real tough fight for Martinez. 50-50 fight IMO esp if the weight doesnt effect Dzinzurik

No I called you an idiot for a error and a terrible comparison you ****ing idiot.

Pavlik had a good jab Dzinzurik has a great jab. Pavlik fights one way and that coming forward throwing 1-2's. Dzinzurik can fight going back or coming forward and also Pavlik cant deal with movement at all and Dzirzurik has good foot work and can handle a fighter moving laterally once in a blue moon.

Pavlik's defence is his face and Dzinzurik has a great turtle shell defence. Besides being tall and white they have zero in common.

THAT is why you are a ****ing idiot.

Dzinziruk is a southpaw and has a better jab. His handspeed and more importantly footspeed is faster. It takes Pavlik a long time to re-set his feet when presented with lateral movement.

It applies to every fight. If Dzyna can establish his jab it will go a long way in disrupting Martinez's rhythem which is a big part of his game.

Great analysis, just 2 things i disagree with.

    - Dzinziruk does use a high guard but when compared to guys like AA and Huck he does slip punches and offer upperbody movement too.

    - Pavlik's D is underrated. He's quite good at slipping, parrying, and blocking shots, even against Martinez once he adjusted was quite good.

are you going to explain to me how Dzinzurik and Pavlik is "the worse comparison you have ever heard" or do run and hide when somebody stands up to you.

Pavlik and Dzinzurik both don't have great footwork, work off the jab, both have a straight right(pavlik)left(Dzinzurik) set up by the jab, stalk and pressure their opponents and have good(Pavlik)decent(Dzinzurik)power and generally are not known for their counter-punching skills. They are also both upright fighters.

So exactly how are you going to back up your "worse comparison you have ever heard" statement.

and don't fall back on my rematch statement to use as your excuse. I already said I made a mistake.

    you need medication.

I seriously can see this turning into a Taylor Spinks like fight, may be not as boring but like a technical guy vs a big guy

the technical makes the big guy look bad at points but the big guy hits harder and is a little busier

in the end Martinez wins by a UD but not easy and not impressively
