Klitschko-Haye: An absurd mismatch and hype job

anything is possible. will still win shitloads off of Klitschko's victory though

 

This post is absolutely begging to be quoted with footage of Wladimir's fights with Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster. Anyone care to do the honors?

 

The guys can't win, everyone calls them duckers for not fighting, then pricks starts these threads and moan about them fighting! Yawwwnnn

 

Haye can punch! You may have been watching boxing for a while but either through biassed eyes or just failing to recognise facts!

You are reaching back 7+ years to show Wlads loses? You realize Wladimir is now a completely different fighter? A much more complete, and competent fighter.

You also realize that you are setting yourself up for a counter-post of Haye going down from Monte Barrets awesome power? Or his loss against Thompson?


My arguement isn't that the notion of Haye getting to Wlads chin is inconceivable, but rather unlikely. Yet reading the posts in this thread, and others, it seems that some of the English here believe Haye will have as easy of a time with Wladimir as he did in his awesome title defense against the deserving and worthy challenger Audley Harrison.:nut

Haye has done nothing to suggest he will have an easy time with Wladimir........ especially in his campaign at HW so far.. much less yet walk through him.

 

im a haye fan and a brit and a massive boxing fan in general, i believe in haye and that is for a number of reasons.....

he is talented, he is powerfull, he hits hard, he is cool, he is funny, he is cringeworthy, he is a champion but most of all he DOES WHAT HE SAYS!!!

i dont have anything against the klits appart from their obvious contract wranglings and politics bull**** that we havnt had one haye vs a klit allready........

HAYE WINS for me due to his speed power and movement.....and if he doesnt then he doesnt......good luck to haye and good luck to whoever of the k bros gets in there with haye.......

Briggs was a decent Heavyweight at one point but that was a long time ago. Holyfield has a better resume than Haye but that doesn't mean he's more deserving of a shot at the Klitschko's right now does it?

Briggs has been a joke for years now - he gasses out after about 20 seconds then moves around the ring with the speed and elegance of a turtle walking through treacle.

This Briggs wouldn't have a prayer against Haye and his fight against Vitali - that was a horrible mis-match.

 

Haye is not the first boxer to jump up a division and be ranked highly (some go straight in at No1 contender). He then backed it up by beating Valuev and taking his belt in his own backyard. Unless of course you have SNV winning by way of air punching.

As for comparing Briggs' resume with Haye's resume. He's beaten three reigning champs which is more than can be said about any current HW (bar Holyfield). Losing every fight you fought against elite fighters doesn't make a resume. If you want to make a comparison at HW only, Haye is undefeated and was WBA champion within 3 fights of joining the division. No comparison at all. I give Haye a 50/50 chance at best against Wlad and less than that against Vitali, but picking apart Haye's achievements in what is only a 25 fight career is ridiculous. If (and obviously it's a big if) by the end of it, he's managed to unify the CW and HW divisions in only 27 fights, he should be applauded, but no doubt some will still say he was a hype-job.

 

And who else did he beat in that 8 and 1/2 year span? He lost every round to Ibragimov and was losing every second against Lyakhovic before landing a hail-mary punch with seconds to go.

I don't care how often he was off his feet either - having a good chin isn't enough to make you a great, or even good, fighter. His "262 pounds of solid muscle" is probably the reason he gasses out before the first round is even over.

Again - in that illustrious 8 and 1/2 year period, what fighters comprised the mureders row he conquered to make himself worthy of a title shot?

At one point he was good but he's been a joke for years - and the fight against Vitali was a travesty.
