Being the best in both traits is nearly impossible. That's why there's always offense vs. defense rivals a head to head sports. Now in Boxing, which do you prefer has a better a chance of winning? Someone has to win. The other has to lose. Both are the master each traits facing against each other in the battlefield.

Here's the logic: different style with the same goal. To win! that's the plan.
Master Offense goal: to land as many punches as possible.
Master Deffense goal: to block/dodge as many punches as possible.

Here's the 2nd logic: both aims for the win, but different goal? (confuse yet?)
    Master Offense: to destroy!
    Master Deffense: to survive!

A win is a win no matter how you do it. What's everyone's opinion to this? You can put an example to prove your point.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rZJWtLqw5w[/ame] Boxing is a hit and don't get hit science kid. You are kind of mixed up. A Master Defense is to make the opponent miss and make them pay with your offense. There are several ways to take away and neutralize offense kid. For example: The jab can offset the offensive fighters rhythm and getting caught with counters can really shut down an offense. Chavez threw 100 punches per round and lost.

Make him miss make him pay, you don't get points for just making him miss. it's impossible to be a world level fighter using just offence OR defence, you need both.

Well I would prefer defense, you may not get as many knockouts but you sure will stay in the game longer than anyone else. And won't be beaten ******ed

    This kind of dumb.
A mans offense can be his defense (pacman).
You can't have just a defense and not a offense. You need both if you're going to be a defensive fighter. Thats why most defensive fighter are boring.

Yes the same can be said but you must realize that a defensive fighter throws back. Hit and don't get hit.

Offense is priority; and this is reflected in the general scattering of ATG lists.

Greb, Langford, Fitzsimmons, Armstrong, Robinson, etc. There are very few purely defensive technicians found in the top 25 atgs. Pep and Ross, more or less. The rest of the boxers are all puncher hybrids, offensive machines.

Good defense and footwork will leave you in good position to throw lead punches and counter off your opponent. Catching punches with your face does not help you setup your offense no matter how much we all love Rocky Balboa.

There is a lot to be said about offense to keep an opponent off balance as well. But again, I don't feel you can accomplish this without solid footwork and defense to allow you a clear view of your opponent, and allow you to be in positions to utilize your strengths.

Looking at KO ratios is not a judge of whether a person favored offense or defense either. Flawed argument as personal power is a huge factor in knock outs.

The point is you need a good offense to take advantage of your defensive move. Therefore making offense more important than defense.

Its very rare for a defensive fighter to have the total package.
