Apparently Haye has it figured out how he is going to take out the Ukrainian giant....:huh he's just going to take away his jab... sounds like he has a game plan just like all the rest do and wake up wondering WTF:tired http://www.boxingnews24.com/2011/03/haye-plans-on-taking-away-wladimirs-jab/#more-59318 good luck on that one :thumbsup
Vlad's jab will hurt Haye badly. Vlad's right will knock Haye out, or the left hook, or the upper cut, or the right hook, hook off the jab, etc.
Wlad has not fought any one like Haye!!!! Haye has not fought any one like Wlad!!!! lets just be happy its happening! Both are going to need a game plan they have never used! And yes Haye has the ability to slip the Jab! Watch the first round against Ruiz your see what i mean. Ow Haye gona ko Wlad
How? Look at his hand placement defensively. He holds both hands low and one at his thigh. He can tilt his head backwards only so far to take the impact off the jab. At that point, if he leans too much he's off balance. Lots of opponents have attempted to lean back to avoid that Klitschko jab and it puts themselves out of range while never quite getting out of that Wladimir range. And it is a quick straight and stiff jab to deal with and not exactly telegraphed. Wladimir throws 30-35 jabs per round and is accurate. Reducing the effectiveness is 1 thing but eliminating is another quantum leap. 2 quantum leaps. And it isn't as if Haye is a busy fighter when it comes to punch output. On the contrary, he prefers to take breathers on the outside for majority of each round and do nothing. A slow pace only. He will have a very tough time with this opponent if he tries this and he will have to fight at a different pace. and most likely do it backing up & I do not think he has the footwork to pull it off. Nor the increased energy level it takes to constantly to stay out of range. If his gas tank goes against Wladimir, those low hands are going to leave big openings to a finisher. Whole different ballgame with this opponent than it was with dinosaur legged old Valuev. Or the statue Harrison or walking into punches old Ruiz.
Sorry but one round vs Ruiz proves nothing. Lets not forget Haye will be up against one of the top jabs in the game. I want Haye to win but feel the jab is the main reason he will loose. He really is not as elusive as people think he is, especially to a decent jab. This is a lot esaier to say than do, but haye needs to rough him up and stay close and make Klit uncomfortable. When he gets out of that range his nose will be jabbed off clean.
You can't try to outbox a bigger, more technical, methodical boxer with better reach and defence just by having faster hands and being more elusive. Haye shouldn't trying to fight in a way he never does, against by far the best boxer he ever faced. Well, actually he should but not in that way at least.
The other huge factor is corners. Huge gap. Too bad Haye does not have the services of Steward to probe holes and develop the proper tactics and strategies to implement. It would help and be a superior alternative than Haye himself being put under a microscope.
Haye's hope is to storm Wlad and earn his respect right away with a few power shots which will force Wlad into panic mode and give Haye the shot at a KO, if he tries to outbox Wlad he'll get broken down, get his face jabbed to **** and eventually get KO'd by a big right.
