Dzinziruk's chances this weekend?

Might be in the minority, but i think this will be a relative comfortable night for Martinez. He's too loosy goosy for Dzinziruk IMO. Only question is how long will it take for Martinez to catch his second wind, as he almost always slows down towards the middle of distance fights.

Gabriel Sarmiento won't be in corner for Sergio's fight on Saturday due to Personal problems. So Pablo Gabriel's brother will take the corner.

Had a look at both men and had good think about it after the other day's post...thought i should really think about the fight.

I think Sergio will win this and win well. Just watching the Santos fight and thinking of how Serg will deal with Sergei and think after the early rounds he will get into a pattern and end up becoming a one sided affair. Just see the foot movement of Sergio aligned with his crisp counters and precision being to much for Sergei. I think he could overwhelm him in the end and grab a stoppage.

He's fought bigger men and taken the best of there shots and just feel Sergei's jab won't be enough in this and Sergio will start to lead off from angles and keep him walking and turning onto shots.

Sergio may tuck a jab into body and loop left hand over the lead right hand of Sergei as fight wears on.

 

He don't hit like Pirog for a start! Fighting the Middleweight Champion of the World is different to Euro level Welterweights and Light Middleweights.

To sum up this fight. You might win a fight behind the jab fighting in Germany as the home fighter, but, stepping up in weight against a good world champion who's punching hard in the USA. I don't give Dzinziruk much chance to be honest. Also, he's a champion, but has been inactive for most part, you have to ask yourself WHY? I think he's getting well paid for his retirement here. :good

 

Yeah i expect Sergio to take full control after 1 or 2 rounds of feeling out and tbh i could see a stoppage late on. I think Sergio will loop shots around and over and i can see it getting one sided. At first i felt it be lot closer but watching both men and thinking about it...a good jab isn't enough to stop Sergio.

 

He'll look to survive rather than win. 12 round fight probably.

 

That be a real shame if he did. Lot of lads on here hold him in high regard.

 

Sergei will take the first two rounds or so - he's got good timing and decent hand speed. But Martinez is pretty good at making adjustments at this stage in his career. He'll be aggressive and close the distance to stunt the boxer's straight shots.

By the middle rounds, he'll be up on the cards and hurting the smaller man. But he'll likely tire between 6-9 and allow sergei back into the fight. After catching his second wind he'll take sergei out with a right hook. Stoppage around round 10.

 

thats a great point about Sergio actually, he does historically fight in three segments, he'll be aggressive for four rounds, take the middle four rounds off then step it up and finish the last four very strongly, like the pavlik fight. whether this is him tiring or just not trusting his second wind is questionable but it's definitely a trend with Sergio.

Thats why i think this is a close fight, i dont think he can afford to have a look for a couple of rounds and ease himself into the fight, he has to start aggressively and put some rounds in the bank.
