Mayorga: "Cotto, thank you for the chance you gave me..."

    Mayorga's words to Cotto at the end of the fight:

    "Champ, thank you for the chance you gave me, you know all the **** I talk is just hype for the fight, thank you for the chance you gave me."

    It wasn't a KO, it was TKO. Cotto caught Mayo with a nice hook, Mayo faltered, and then went down on one knee holding his left hand. The ref asked, he said he could continue, threw some more punches, then stood in a corner and signaled Cotto to stop. :D

    He complained of something wrong with his hand, thumb, I don't know.

    Mayorga cracks me up. I hope he finds happiness outside of the ring in his retirement.

    I did figure it was 1 pre-hype ****,
    this kind of thing goes w/out,
    saying.
    Mayorga took it seriously, tho,
    and did give cotto a tough,
    fight .

    Mayorga complained his thumb got bent back, and then couldn't make a fist. I'm guessing it was a combination of eating that huge left hook, and then hurting his hand, which made him opt to say "**** this."

    It was cool of Cotto to walk over to him immediately after the stoppage and check on him.

    Cotto just hugged him, he may have said something, but I couldn't hear.

    I'm sure Mayorga is grateful that Cotto took this fight with him. Mayorga knows he's done as a fighter, and this was his last big pay. That's the feeling I got from his words.

    All the same usual antics by Mayorga, talk bs before a fight, get his ass handed to him in the fight and then apologise after the fight!!! Pretty played out ish!

    I never understand anyone who gets emotional about fighers talking trash before a fight. You know what they're doing . . . . their job!

    Mayorga is great at talking **** and getting interest in their fights. You bet your bottom dollar that Mayorga feels a bit embarrassed about the way he acts before a fight, but he does what's best for his bank account - gets more viewers.

    I couldn't stop laughing when they interviewed Cotto in the gym and he said Mayorga can be a dick with his accent.

    With all honesty, I think that Mayorga was the best I've seen in years. Tried to go all out with a bang. No signs of him gassing, He trained his ass off here I see. I hope he enjoys his life outside the ring.
