I actually wish he had backed off his style around his late 20's. Made his prime a little shorter:-((

The only thing that hurts him is he was shot at 29, but he had been fighting for about 12 years and cleared out 3 divisions so it isn't that bad.

Bro this is testament to how ****ing real and what a true warrior he was. When you aren't in your prime when your 29 years old it is proof that you didn't take the *****'s path of least resistance "low risk high reward".. Erik Morales career was a death walk

He was a demon in that ring for sure, and he could have very easily coasted to victories with his boxing skills, but chose to mix it up and make things interesting. That is what made him so exciting to watch.

The scary thing is that, his prime came so fast at 29 years old because of the way he chose to fight his fights. And even then he accomplished ATG status in even less possible time. Its incredible.

Yeah, but I would have rather seen him back off a bit, and seen more of him. Every fight doesn't have to be a war IMO.

Yes ****ing nasty resume to me I judge a fighter basically in their years before they are past it to me when I saw Erik fight Raheem he looked awful and was shot every fight more so afterwards. Before that fight he had just 2 losses and them being to the awesome Marco Antonio Barrera and lets not forget Morales holds that victory of MAB in the 1st fight and has braging rights of beating Marcos losses in Pacquiao and Junior Jones.

How did he clear out 3 divisons he techniqually cleared out 122 but 126 he had the loss to Marco in 02 and spent all of 2003 as the guy underneath Marco. Then after nearly cleaning out 130 he lost to Marco agian. Take Barrera out and the guy has a perfect career until his prime passes him by.

Also point out that Erik Morales vs Barrera I was a close fight. But Morales vs Barrera II was no close And that was a clear win for Morales. He possibly could have been the winner 2 in a row without a trilogy if the scorecards would have been a bit different.

The only clear fights in the trilogy where fight 1 for Marco and fight 3 for Marco. Shouldve been 3-0 or 2-0-1.

The only clear fights were The 2nd fight for Erik Morales and the 3rd fight for Barrera. The 1st fight was a toss up. Plain and simple

I rank Morales higher than Barrera.
