    martinet beat 3 top guys

pacman or mayweather beat like 7 top guys and are more athletic, faster and one can throw faster, the other has a better defence.

And lost to Williams and Margarito, and probably would again. And you want to put him above ****ing B-Hop, you ****ing tool?

If Maravilla is so goddam tough, why is he calling out lightweights and welterweights instead of Bute and Ward? Because he knows he gets ****ed up by ANY of the quality SMW's and half of the quality MW's. I didn't think much of Pavlik, but until he got cut he was handling Sergio with EASE. And now people are making polls about Martinez and HAGLER for christs sake. I'm serious, I'm gonna be ****ing sick. I've been wasting my time here, because this board is entirely full of ******ed people who don't know enough about boxing to talk intelligently about boxing.

You all think Maravilla is the **** because that's what HBO and Max Kellerman are telling you. There is NO reason to have him that high p4p PERIOD.

He's still #4 counting Mayweather. Donaire has better claim and destroyed a P4Per in Montiel.

yep. hbo boxing is in a delicate situation now with mayweather not fighting and losing top PPV draws like pac, cotto and mosley to showtime. they're pinning their hopes on developing (e.g. hyping) martinez to become their next big PPV attraction.

the thread title is exactly what hbo wants to see out of these so-called "knowledgeable" boxing fans.

It was disgustingly obvious during the broadcast. I think Kellerman was going to start crying when the skinny jr mw started landing on Martinez and looked to be taking over the show, Lampley was just stammering. I always wanted to give Max the benefit of the doubt when it came to replacing Larry Merchant, but now I'm realizing just how much I'm going to miss that old *******. He didn't bull**** and hype for ANYONE.

jesus man, it's P4P not ATG....how long ago was that loss?

P4P is what are you doing now, not what did you do 5+ years ago....****....using your logic SRR is today's p4p1

No. Using my logic Martinez hasn't earned even being mentioned in the same sentence with Pac, JMM, the CURRENT Hopkins, PBF and half a dozen other fighters clearly ahead of him in accomplishment and talent.

He's a pick em fight against Pirog. I'd bet on James ****ing Kirkland over Martinez, and Kirkland is a flat brute with a minimum of technical skill. FROCH, of all people, would just knock the holy dog**** out of Martinez, and so would any of the top 10 fighters one weight class above him. I'd make Angulo 50/50 with him.

So stop with the bull****. Martinez is a top flight JMW, not even clearly the BEST JMW, and he's far from a p4p class MW.

Dzinzuruk is typical euro b-level fighter, and he was getting to Sergio very seriously before he went down after getting caught with the same punch over and over again. Angulo has a much better chin than Dzin, hits harder, and won't get caught with the same shot 300 times before he learns to block it. The more I think about it, the more I would favor Angulo. If Martinez shows up for Angulo in the same condition he showed for Dzin, fading after six rounds, he's gonna be in for a long ****ing night he might not survive.
