Attendance for the Burns fight??

£50 a pop for the cheap seats for that sort of card is crazy.

i thought it was well over 1000 one side was quite busy few hundered on other side and a couple hundered on floor and ringside

 

Omg even if it was 2500 then it was way way less than it should be for Burns in a world title defence at home.

Boxing is a minority sport in Scotland aswell remember, its not as popular as it is in England sadly enough, in Scotland the smelly Old firm rule the pages of the media & the minds of the public, & thats the truth.

Look on this forum even, scottish boxing fans here are happy to argue about Celtic & Rangers more than they are about the boxing!!!

If Burns gets a unification fight & fights at Broomfield stadium though next to where he lives as is being mooted in the press? THATS when you are going to see a monster attendance folks, I imagine the whole of coatbridge will go to that one to cheer on their hero!

 

Can't see Burns becoming a PPV star so I can't understand why Warren has not struck a deal to show these fights on BBC/ITV, Burns is the sort of fighter who might just develop appeal beyond boxing....my girlfriend thinks he's 'cute'.

It would **** sky off, of course, they don't mind there future PPV stars getting exposure on national TV but they think they have a right to lesser stars. I am sure attendence at Burns fights would increase with a little national exposure.

In a time of an economic downturn you've got to start pointing fingers at those who decide the ticket prices for such events.

£50 for a cheap seat is a disgrace especially in an area not renowned for its prosperity.

People aren't stupid, they won't pay to see Burns fight a journeyman when he only fought an average featherweight last time.

As I've said before Sky ought to have blocked Laryea and insisted on someone better for Burns. Even though Martinez was a bit overrated, Burns being able to beat him should immediately put him way beyond these kind of opponents.

Hopefully they pull their finger out next time.

i think the crowd was down on burns last fight mainly die to the price of the ticket £50 cheapest

if the ticket was £30 then it would have been close to a sellout and if it was in Glasgow eg: kelvin hall or SECC then it defo would be a sell-out.

the fight in airdrie should be priced right , i hope warren does this

£30 a ticket for stadium part , £35 for on the turf , £75 for ringside...do that and its a complete sellout

14000 x average ticket price say £35 = £490k add tv and sponsorship money and you make a small fortune

ps: for the unification burns should at least get £150k

Surprised anyone turned up to see that **** and the fight itself was poor and will no doubt have put people off going to watch Burns again.
