HBO from the sounds of it.

That was one of the best cards HBO has ever had. THe opening bout had plenty of action and the dramatic ending in the perfect round. We got a full 10 rounds of action and a great finish.
The main event surprised me and everyone at HBO. Nobody does that to Dzinziruk. To be honest with you i almost see it as punishment for MArtinez that they made him fight Dzinziruk. He has beat their stars on their network a few times already and they probably wanted to humble him.

I normally prefer to avoid casting such cynical aspersions regarding ulterior motives (innocent until proven otherwise, and all) - but can't help wondering if the surprisingly large minority who voted for "Showtime was better by far" have a certain agenda...

An agenda that would see them want to both a) pump up Cotto's accomplishments and b) downplay those of rising "pound for pound" star Martinez...:think

Bear in mind that I like Cotto quite a bit, and have a lot more time invested in following him than in Martinez...but the fact is that his mostly pretty good performance against Mayorga wasn't anywhere near as sensational as Maravilla's against the Razor...and was against a lesser opponent.

Cotto-Mayorga and Wolak-Foreman would have made an OK Showtime Saturday night (regular, free) card. As the lone bright spots on an otherwise dull and shitty PPV they simply do not measure up to the product HBO put out. I can not see how someone could objectively think otherwise.

I had the option to watch both and though I switched to see the HBO card from time to time, I was enjoying the Showtime card much more. Lee vs McEwan might have been dramatic but it was also sluggish as hell. Martinez whooped Dzinziruk's ass which was enjoyable but I made alot of money off Wolak beating Foreman and Mayorga did have me kind of on the edge of my seat against Cotto in a fight where we saw good ability from both fighters. I think Mayorga from last Sat would beat Dzinziruk from last Sat but hey what do I know right.

Agenda has nothing to do with it in my case, I actually chose to watch the Showtime card over the HBO card because it was highly entertaining. I didn't really care about Lee vs McEwan tbh, and I didn't really give Dzinziruk much of a chance to trouble Martinez.

As far as I'm concerned, Cotto has never disappointed me yet. Not saying it'll never happen, but it hasn't happened so far.

HBO by far, Anyone voting for the Cotto card is either a die hard Cotto fan or just doesn't want to feel like a chump for forking over $50 for a sub-par fight.

It was enjoyable, but as IB said...Even for a free Showtime card Wolak vs Foreman and Cotto vs Mayorga it doesn't have much replay value.

You liked the fight, that's all that really matters anyway. As long as you feel you got your monies worth.

i got the showtime ppv and had friends over to watch it
i watched the hbo replay the next day

both hbo fights i found far more interesting than any of the showtime fights

    HBO was the better show.
I was bored watching the undercards and even the main event for the PPV. Good thing I just paid 5 bucks to see it.

Ringhole Master - you continue to confirm what a dumb **** you are!

The Cotto v Mayorga clash was easily the most entertaining of the night, only a dopey **** like you would disagree!

I really enjoyed the Showtime card to be honest. I usually don't like Showtime production as much as HBO's but this was pretty good. And Tarver is really steppin it up as a commentator... I believe he'll be around a while.

I had my choice to watch either and I kept findin' myself on Showtime watchin.

Both were quality shows, I'm glad to see Showtime bringin' it... cause if I'm not mistaken, they didn't do hardly any PPV's last year?

    HBO.

Dramatic, competitive first fight that ended in a knockout.
Significant lineal MW title fight with moments of brilliance, excitement, knock downs, competitiveness and eventual knockout.

Who doesn't love the KOs and the competition? That's what it's all about and HBO delivered.
