Slap, some of the posters do have a point. I'm a big fan of Lee, but there is no,point and coming on here and pretend everything was hunky dorey Saturday night. If Mcewan (who is not a top 10 rated middleweight) can dominate Lee in those rds 2-6 like he did, then Lee really needs to have a proper think about how he is going to go forward from here. He got Lucky that McEwan gassed and wasn't able to maintain the pressure on Lee or else it could of been another Vera job or at the least a points loss.... As I said, there were a few positives from Lee (Heart, chin, punch power, stamina), but they were totally out-weighed by the negatives as far as i'm concerned. As far as I could tell he hasnt made much progression since his Vera defeat 3 years ago, which is dissapointing...
And who would get to train lee then? I dont think Steward is the problem, Manny is a great trainer and Lee admits most of his mistakes are his own fault.
One of the Mayweathers perhaps, I don't really know to be honest. They might tighten up Lee's defence though. Get a bit of head movement going. A change might be good for Andy. I think Andy is too much of a gentleman to blame Manny.
Lee is a good puncher, but not a great athlete. He showed heart..i doubt Steward can give him the ability to be elite..
If McEwan had been a slightly bigger puncher, or had better conditioning Lee had been stopped saturday night. Can you imagine what happens if he fights a real top contender?! I would be surprised if he ever wins a belt, and that isn't even that hard nowadays.
Couldn't agree more. I think he's gotten worse. thought he got a gift of a decision awhile back in Limerick. and all the hype about him before Vera about being the next big thing (and that was coming from stateside) Very disappointing indeed. If he gets a shot against Martinez it would be a massacre.
The fight your talking about took place in Dublin not Limerick, he still beat Sipos clearly imo it just should have been a bit closer than the final score.
lee is ripe for another exposal....he gets hit way too much esp considering he's training under stewards..any good chinned fighter with some pop and stamina will stop him again like vera did
:think hmm, I thought he won that one relatively comfortably bar the late push from Belghehcam. He beat Gibbs and McKay in Limerick comfortably too so I'm not sure what he's getting at? I was at the one in the O2 against his old sparring partner and he wasn't that convincing but to be honest I was quite far away and haven't seen a video of it since
Belghecham wasnt close at all imo, he won two rounds and thats it. Lee outboxed him fairly easily for the first eight rounds.
