Well i haven't seen a great deal of footage on them but iv been impressed with what i have seen and their accomplishments are top notch as well as their reputation.

Shatkov for example was a 5'8 160lber and at the 1960 games was asked to fight at LHW by the Soviet team. He fought Ali and it was tied going into the 3rd round and was said to be competitive.

All the MW's i mentioned in their prime were as good if not better than Papp. Popenchenko is probably regarded as the best.

If you include the FSU, most of which is NOT in Europe (Kazakhstan for example and that removes the klits, Armenia which removes Darchinyan, Siberia which removes Kosta Tszu, etc) then you really can't do a proper evaluation since these guys and their forerunners weren't fighting professionally.

If you DID include the FSU in its entirety, you might say Europe wins vs the USA.

The Klychko's were born in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan because their dad was in the air force and they moved around. they're both ethnic Ukrainians and grew up mostly in Ukraine.

Tszyu is a product of Soviet boxing school, Europe.

 Ottke beats Jones because he beat Mundine?:patsch Yeah, just like you said Sturm beats Hopkins becasue Hops has trouble with two handed fast fighters.

You're an insufferable twat whose inconsistent and a total hypocrite.

Clinton, you see, with an overly arrogant **** like bailey, once he says it, it's FACT.

Anyone who has a bit of reading ability can see BAiley, for all his long winded posts, says nothing of substance.

"Eubanks beats Hagler like SRL did..." :patsch To baby bailey, that's a boxing breakdown..

LOL, this is not even worth a poll.

Over the last 35 years Europe is even behind Cuba and Mexico, so how the hell can they compete with the US except in the weird temporary down phases such as the present one that allows two stiff amateur clowns like the Klit sisters to exist.

Answer: No contest. Uncontested winner: U.S.A.

Saying Europe all time doesn't apply though since we have no way of knowing how the best fighters pro careers would have gone. These are guys off the top of my head who could of potentially been better than some of the fighters you listed.

    HW

Vysotsky - beat Stevenson both times they fought including by KO

Gorstkov - 4X Absolute Champ of the USSR. Only one of 2 HW's ever to do this. Korolev being the other.

    MW's

    Popenchenko - probably the greatest
Ageev - never lost a fight in international compitition
    Lagutin
    Shatkov
    Papp
Ruzhnikov beat Roy Jones 1986 Goodwill Games

    LHW

Lemeshev - beat Spinks and KO'd Johnson
Pietryzkowski - KO'd Papp and should have got the decision against Ali in their Gold Medal match
    Lebziak (at LHW was unbeatable)

    Lighter Weights

    Arbachakov
    Tszyu
Nazarov - won a belt as a pro and beat Tszyu at the 1989 USSR Nationals
Petrov - beat legendary Cuban Angel Herrera
